Dr. Coby Thomas Richeson, MD

I wish I would have read the reviews before I saw him. Had an insurance change and chose him because he was close. I do not to go to the doctor very often so I tried to explain my entire history in order to efficiently deal with things and save him time. At a certain point, he was done listening. Seemed too busy for me. I needed a referral and meds approved so I scheduled a 2nd appt thinking the first was my fault. It was a train wreck. I found him rude/condescending and he took some offense at my responses. Strange little man. Movin on.

The most rude, arrogant, know it all with the worst bedside manners I’ve ever experienced. This Dr is NOT knowledgeable in healthcare at all. Look elsewhere if you care about your health!

He lost his passion and abandoned his patients. He ended up having personal issues and just up and abandoned his patients. Sad to see people have problems, but he was a terrible doctor, but IU would not let us change doctors within the group. Luckily he just up and left one day. 6 months later he came back, but most of his patients would not come back.

Dr. Richeson thoroughly listens, asks questions, and examines issues from multiple perspectives before thoughtfully explaining his view or diagnosis. He is efficient and very caring. His mannerisms make visits easy and his vast knowledge leaves me well informed.

I started seeing Coby Richeson back in 2007. He worked with me with just lifestyle change to manage my A1c. He is a good listener who takes time with his patients and will never take anything for granted. He will always get to the bottom of every symptom to make sure that nothing is going on. He is more of a preventive doctor than a cure doctor. He would rather catch something early than sit and wait what happens. I would rate him as an excellent doctor

This doctor just doesn't care. He is always rushed and always late for appointments. Even first thing in the morning. If he has a bad day, watch out! He just wants to get through the appointment and move on, and he doesn't seem like he truly cares. If the doctor doesn't care, is it beneficial to your well being?

He was my primary care MD before I moved out of state. He was always thorough, compassionate and thoughtful...excellent doctor.

Was very displeased with the way I was treated by this doctor. Dr Richeson came in was very pleasant at first. Not even two minutes into the appt and a male (Dr or intern) popped his head in and said "You want me to get you?" and Dr Richeson said "Give me 5 mins". So before he even knew the entire situation or even looked at my son, he already was rushing us out the door. I told the Dr that my son had been coughing and so much mucus he was puking and gasping for air a lot. Not keeping food or medication down. So he prescribed another pill. I was trying to tell him we had tried to go to the pharmacy and see what they said. Before I could even finish my sentence he interrupted me and said that HE was the Dr and that HE overrides what a Pharmacist says. I said that isn't what I was trying to explain to you. The Pharmacist said to give him a Zyrtec pill but he couldn't keep that down either. He said well do you want me to give him a shot all crazy like and of course my son is like NO NO No… shots!!! So I didn't know what to do. I then started asking him questions about what I need to do and when to take him to the ER and he gave me a real non specific answer. I asked more detailed questions and he said I cant tell you the future...I got other things to take care of and walked out the door. I wasn't sure if he was coming back or not...and realized after a few mins that he probably wasn't. I couldn't believe how rude he was and probably wont be going back period. I believe some doctors can be frustrated with the volume of patients and people have bad days, but there is no excuse for what happened to us. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS DOCTOR TO ANYONE!!!

I have been seeing Dr. Richeson for 11yrs and have been very pleased. I disagree with the previous patient review in many ways. I always feel like I get my questions/concerns addressed completely. I trust that if he says that he isn't concerned about something it is because he is the doctor and the one that went to medical school. My whole family sees Dr. Richeson, ages ranging from new born to my almost 90 year old grandmother. The office staff is friendly and the office is always clean. There have been a few occasions that I have had a little bit of a wait in the exam room but takes his time with me so I am assuming he runs a little behind schedule because he is taking his time with his other patients as well. He is especially good with children. I feel very confident in the care I receive and would recommend him to anyone.

I've been seeing Dr Richeson for about 6-7 yrs. My most recent visit was the worst ever. I spent 56 minutes in the"room" waiting for him to see me, the he spent 10 min. with me. I've also not been very happy with quite a few previous visits over the yrs.. There have been time where I've been concerned about something, and he would say, " I'm not too worried about it. He needs to learn how to be more compassionate and show concern in your My Cardiologist put me on Crestor and 6 mos. later at a routine visit, he switched me to Lipitor. He has also laughed at a concern of mine a few times. And the diagnosis codes he send to insurance is sometimes not right, they are things I knew nothing about!! I should look into all the codes he has checked on previous visits..Not totally happy with him.Between those and this most recent, I've decided to look for a different Dr.
