Dr. Colin M Mcdonough, MD

I certainly do not agree with the 10 or so patients who rated Dr. McDonough so low! Why he is about the BEST internist I've ever been privileged to work with. He's been my doctor and friend since Feb. 2013. He gives the greatest attention to all I need to talk about. He's thorough getting other specialists visits and lab, x-ray set up. He pays attention to all the other practitioners' chart notes, lab work, etc., that comes across his desk. On top of it he is very compassionate and caring. He often smiles and is very warm. Other workers at the hospital he works near all say they "just love him"! Super reputation.

My family of four in West Linn had been with Dr. Mcdonough since 1997 until 2017 when he moved to a different office. We chose Dr. Mcdonough because his expertise, quality of services, follow up, friendly, ... That's all I need to say about him for the last 20 years.

Helpful and interested in the big picture of ones health

It was very difficult to make an appointment. They did not answer phones so I went to the office and was told I had to make an appointment by phone so I picked up the phone in the waiting room, called them and made the appointment by phone while watching them take the call. They then told me that I was not supposed to do that, apparently wanting me to continue calling from an outside line so they could continue not answering the phone! Their staff is pleasant but apparently not well trained or supervised and the phone system interferes with obtaining medical care. Dr. McDonough seems to be a well qualified, caring, competent, intelligent, thoughtful doctor if you can manage to cajole his staff into giving you an appointment. I was the first appointment of the day and they double booked my appointment and I had to wait over half an hour to see the doctor. Since I showed up 15 minutes early as requested and they kept me waiting till the double booking arrived and took her first,… this took quite a chunk out of my day. The staff places no value on the patient's time and did not seem concerned that their phone system does not work so you may have to go in and call them from their phone in the waiting room too.
