Dr. Colleen Feltmate, MD

Dr. Feltmate is a very caring and compassionate surgeon. She answers all questions thoroughly and never rushes your visit with her. She treated me for vulvar cancer and I was completely satisfied with the results and also with the incredible post surgery care given to me by her team at Brigham and Womens.

My cancer was discovered inadvertently and, thanks to my general surgeon who received the path report, I was immediately sent to Dr. Feltmate. Her diagnosis, while not what I wished to hear, was clear, concise, specific, and positive. She does not sugarcoat her language, nor does she was waste time in chit chat...both of which I appreciate. As horrible as what I was about to face was, I had absolute faith in her ability, intelligence, and compassion, and so the biggest piece of anxiety for me was removed. Prior to and after surgery, every medical person with whom I came into contact, only sang her praises (“She is the best,” “You are so fortunate to have her as your surgeon,” etc.). Today I am alive and doing well because of her skill. Would I recommend her? You bet...over and over again!

I had a questionable finding from CAT scan and my NP recommended that I see Dr. Feltmate. I just saw her today and she had all the A's ( availability, affability and ability). I was very pleased with my visit with her. Dr.. Feltmate is an excellent oncologist gynecologist!

After seeing several different doctors in Florida and receiving treatment and surgeries, it seemed that my case was rare and the doctors in the area were either too conservative or too aggressive in their treatment suggestions. I went to Dana Farber for a (third) opinion. I was hesitant about traveling for treatment at first as I have a young family, but my experience at Dana Farber and with Dr. Feltmate has been amazing from the minute I walked through the doors. From the minimum wait time to the courteous staff and nurses I immediately felt comfortable and knew I was in the right place. Dr. Feltmate has performed three surgeries on me and while my case is ongoing I know that I am in the right hands and have full confidence in her and the staff at DF. It took awhile to find a doctor who met in the middle as far as treatment plans. My confidence in Dr. Feltmate, DF and B&W makes my travel to Boston worth it.

Saw me only once after major surgery, never actually checked me, just talked. Sent me back to physically demanding work even after I told her about pain I was having. My first few weeks were torture! She seems more interested in the APPEARANCE of her patients doing well than she is in them REALLY doing well. Only my opinion.

Dr Colleen Feldmate was so sure of her diagnosis, she would not listen to her patient. Its not cancer, 9 out of 10 patients have cervical cancer.and two or three after the surgery she is calling my daughter to say she has to have chemo and radiation and bullet radiation. She ruined my daughters life. Never kept in touch after her miss diagnoses. Please stay away when you hear her name.

Dr. Feltmate is great. I saw her for an ovarian tumor and then had her remove that tumor. She spent time with me to understand my options and my questions and cares very much about womens' unique needs. She is a great surgeon - I was up and about on the same day of surgery.

Dr. Feltmate is a wonderful, caring, and professional doctor, with excellent expertise in her field.

I turned to Dr. Feltmate after seeing a "specialist" that my PC sent me to. After several months of "let's wait and see what happens" I opted to explore other options. I listened to my body and it paid off. I credit Dr. Feltmate for saving my life. My surgery ran several hours longer than anticipated which I am sure caused stress for those who were scheduled after me but I thank God she took her time and did what was best for me.

I FOUND HER TO BE A PLEASANT PROFESSIONAL DOCTOR. IF I NEEDED A DOCTOR IN HER FIELD , I WOULD ASK FOR HER AGAIN.
