Dr. Collins Anene Mbanugo, MD

I went to Dr. Mbanugo as a referral from my primary care physician Dr. K. Hicks. He has a nice small professional office with a nice receptionist. All was well up until Pre Opt 2 days before surgery. I never received any phone call or information in the mail regarding my surgery Pre Opt registration, where to go ,etc. When I called and inquired the receptionist appeared to have forgotten because I had to wait longer at the Pre Opt until they received the paperwork from the doctor's office. On the day of surgery the doctor was late, he never came and spoke with me before or after surgery nor did he leave any instructions on what I was to expect and how to care for the wound. So I called their office the same day after the surgery, while still on anesthesia, to find out when I was to see him again and how to manage my wound. I was told by the receptionist to come to the office in a week to see the doctor which would have been Wednesday. When I arrived at the scheduled time the door was… locked but the receptionist was inside. After continually knocking and then yelling for acknowledgement she finally came to the door with an attitude then a smile to inform me that my appointment was the day before. She then rescheduled me for the following Tuesday at the same time. i inquired about my wound and she gave me her best advice. The morning of the afternoon appointment, the receptionist called to reschedule my appointment to two days later which I wasn't happy about. It's been almost two weeks now and not a word from the doctor. I have never dealt with such an unprofessional doctor and staff like this. I don't know if he did a good job on my surgery but I would never recommend him to anyone. I will inform my primary care doctor who referred him of my bad experience with her referral.

I first saw Dr. Mbanugo 17 years ago when I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. I was devastated. He showed such compassion and understanding for my situation. Patiently answered all my questions and his nurse provided invaluable support

This doctor corrected an umbilical hernia problem I had for years (and two prior surgeries). There has been no problem with it since the surgery. I AM FOREVER GRATEFUL!
