Dr. Colonya Charolynn Calhoun, MD

Colonya C. Calhoun D.D.S. Ph.D. – Assistant Professor, II, Clinical Series,Charles R. Drew University and Attending Physician at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Calhoun received her B.S. in Chemistry in 1992 from Eastern Michigan University and her D.D.S degree from the University of Michigan/Ann Arbor in 1997. She completed her internship at the University of Maryland Medical System/Baltimore in 1998 and completed her residency at Martin Luther King/Charles R. Drew University in 2004 both in the specialty of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. In 2008, Dr. Calhoun completed a PhD at the University of California/Los Angeles in the Department of Oral Biology. Throughout her short career, Dr. Calhoun has received numerous awards and fellowships including National Institute of Dental Research and Craniofacial Research Fellowship. Dr. Calhoun serves as a General Anesthesia and Conscious Sedation Evaluator for the Dental Board of California. She …holds professional memberships in the Christian Medical and Dental Society, California Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Association, American Association of Cancer Research, and the International Association of Dental Research/American Association of Dental Research.
