Completely Changed Terms After We Started I'm writing this to warn other parents because what happened to us was really frustrating and felt wrong. We chose Compass of Hope for our daughter's neuropsychological testing specifically because they took our insurance. I checked their website, called and confirmed with staff, and then we signed the contract. They told us what our copay would be after insurance - a specific dollar amount we agreed to. We paid for the intake session and they billed our insurance for it. Everything seemed fine. Then out of nowhere, they sent us a message saying they're no longer taking insurance and we'd have to pay the full amount out of pocket. We're talking potentially thousands of dollars more than what we agreed to. When I pushed back and said "we have a contract, you already accepted our insurance payment, you can't just change this," they basically said too bad - either pay the full amount or cancel. I even suggested they refer us to another… provider who takes insurance with similar availability, or just honor what we originally agreed to. Got a response about how "this must be frustrating" but zero willingness to actually fix the problem. This really feels like bait and switch to me. They advertised taking insurance, we signed up based on that, they took our money, and then completely changed the deal. The worst part is our daughter actually needs this testing. So now we're either stuck paying way more than we planned or starting completely over somewhere else - wasting the time and money we already spent on the intake. I don't write reviews often but this seemed important for other families to know. If you're considering them, maybe get something in writing that they won't pull the rug out from under you halfway through.
