Dr. Congzhen Ou, MD

I have been to see Dr Ou twice in the past three months Insomnia and anxiety are my major concerns, which affect my Bipolar Disorder sleeping needs, I was given two Rxs , one each time, to alleviate my insomnia They re both 30 yr-old tricyclic antidepressants which were introduced to me more than twenty years ago. They were as discordant with my system then as they are today i am NOT satisfied with having my former medication regimen messed with at this point. I am NOT pleased with her attendance with my insomnia issues. Ugh! I am looking for another Pdoc to aid and help me, instead.

I found Dr. Ou to be personable, friendly and someone with whom I wouldn't mind being friends. However, it was obvious she hadn't taken the time to read the notes in my chart let alone familiarize herself with my recent med history prior to inviting me into her office because her head was in my file much of the time we were talking. Right away she wanted to change all of my meds, meds that have been working quite well for me when all I really needed was something to help with some situational anxiety. She reduced one of my meds, got rid of one all together and prescribed a med which I had serious side-effects with in the past. When the side-effects began for me again, she prescribed yet another med that I had side-effects with to combat the first set of side-effects with the other med so my problems were compounded. Rather than getting help for anxiety I became depressed and non-functional. This is not acceptable. Dr. Ou is supposed to be a very good psychiatrist. Maybe she is for… some patients, but not for me. She has her own agenda. I took a chance and saw her once. I'm not seeing her again.

She has a hoarding situation in her office. It's absolutely filthy. Her question were irrelevant to my concerns. I had to keep steering the conversation back to my illness. Also wouldn't call or help get prescribed medication approved from my health insurance. Totally unprofessional.
