Dr. Connie Jo Pennington, MD

After two years seeing every Gastro doctor in the area for hemorrhoids and being sent home with suppositories, creams and pain killeers I was told by a friend to see Dr. Pennington. I was able to see her quickly. Yes, she is very business like and to the point but I don't want sugar coating anymore from doctors who don't know how to diagnose. It took her about 5 seconds during an exam to tell me it was anal cancer not hemorrhoids. A biopsy confirmed. She handled all of the arrangements for immediate treatment and today I am cancer free due to her quick response and expertise.

I do NOT recommend Doctor Pennington. She made me feel inadequate and humiliated me. I’m never going there again and I don’t recommend her to anyone. I met her for a consultation recommended by my primary care doctor. The first thing she said to me was “Why did they send you here?” She didn’t even introduce herself. I could feel her hostility from the beginning. It turned out that she was not the right doctor to go to for what I needed, which is fine, mistakes happen. However, during the consultation, she interrupted me more than once and made me feel like I had done something wrong the entire time. I get that she was annoyed that I was there, but she could have at least let me finish my sentences. She used examples of her current patients to try and demonstrate why my problems were not serious. But the strangest part was that she gave me a sudden, unexpected rectal exam (while still in my street clothes) that left me feeling confused, awkward, and a little violated. It was not… scheduled and it was after she said she couldn’t help me. It was very uncomfortable and unnecessary in this particular situation. I do not feel as if it was performed to help me in any way. It seems to me like she did it to try to prove that my problems were as unimportant and insignificant as she thought they were in the first place. I was humiliated. I’m still baffled as to WHY she did the exam, because it certainly didn’t prove anything one way or another. It had nothing to do with my problems or why I was there. It simply wasn’t helpful. It’s obvious she lacks good manners, empathy, and compassion. I think she may have forgotten that I’m a human and deserve basic respect. And to top it all off, I’m paying her to treat me like I’m sub-human. Even if she is a good surgeon (which I have no idea if she is) I’m sure there are more who are just as good that are kind and professional. I recommend any of those surgeons. And to answer her question: Why did they send me there? Because they thought you could help me, Dr. Pennington. I guess they were wrong.

Dont let anyone you care about see this poor excuse for a physician! She ruined my friends life. She punctured her esophagus and now she is on oxygen 24/7. My friend was going to school to be a nurse and now she is on disability be cause of "dr" pennington

I would choose another doctor. My daughter was left in extreme pain and did not do the procedure we went for. I am shocked and livid. Do not use this doctor

I had my first colonoscopy today Dr Pennington was great!She remembered that I had been nervous about the prep and asked me how I did.I was impressed because I had only seen her 1time before this for only a few minutes.T hen she prayed with me before my procedure,how many Drs do that these days? Well I appreciate it. My husband said she was very nice to him when she talked to him to tell how I did. Great experience!

After a botched surgery by another doctor, Dr. Pennington was able to give me my life back. She was both professional and sensitive.

After a botched operation by another surgeon, I was desperate and not very hopeful. Dr. Pennington listened to me and took me through two surgeries. The aftercare was efficient and effective. It's been five years and I can't say enough good things about her and her office.

Horrible. Worst doctor I've ever seen. run away from her, dont let her touch you or anyone you love

Ruined me for life
