Dr. Vial did a great job repairing my mitral valve at El Camino Hospital in May 2018. He came highly recommended by my cardiologist as one of the best cardiac surgeons, and a master of valve surgeries. He took all the time I wanted to answer my questions about the surgery in my first office visit at the Palo Alto Medical Clinic in Palo Alto, and seemed pleased, rather than offended, by all the research I did ahead--and all my questions. The surgery was a complete success, and, as promised, at age 72, I have more "horse power" post surgery. He is that rare combination of a superior surgeon with great technical skill, and a kind and empathetic doctor with the best bedside manner. He also, has a topnotch team, and I had a positive experience with everyone I encountered before and after my surgery.

Dr. Vial is probably the smartest person I have met in my life. He is supremely talented at what he does while also having wonderful empathy for his patients. He reconstructed my Mitral valve which was severely damaged and literally saved my life at 66. He has a very professional manner and will spend as much time with you as you need when you are facing a major surgery decision. A true gem of a human being.

It was 4 years ago this weekend when Dr Vial, the PCVS team, and Sequoia Hospital staff put me back together after my ascending aortic dissection. They literally saved my life. I've been feeling great and enjoying all life has to offer since the surgery. At 53 years of age, I'm in better cardiovascular shape now than when I was 30 due to his very talented surgical skills. The whole surgical experience was professional - prepping me for the operation, the talent needed to pull it off such a complex procedure, and the amazing support of the hospital staff during my recovery. I highly recommend Dr. Vial.

This Doctor is incredible. He is deeply knowledgable, wonderfully personable, talented as a surgeon and very caring. His staff is outstanding. Dr Vial did open heart surgery on my husband this past week. Outstanding is an understatement! He knows his busness and get down to work and does a top notch job. Great bedside manner as well. His PA Mark is wonderful as well. Thank you Sir!
