Summary
Ever since I was nine years old, I knew I wanted to work with people. I became a social worker and began to work with people from many different backgrounds in various settings (schools, hospitals, clinics, and private practice). I was always interested in mental health and how much people opened up when they were given a safe and welcoming space to do so. As a Black female provider, I see the importance of representation in the mental health field. All of these experiences and realizations have allowed me to ground in my value of a strengths-based approach to practice. I work with clients who are going through life changes, stress caused by money or are needing an immigration psychological evaluation. My goal in my practice is to create a safe, welcoming environment that explores how lived experiences shape who we are. Most of my adult clients identify with historically marginalized populations (BIPOC & LGBTQ+ communities).
