When you are pushing 400 pounds, like I was, life sucks. I failed miserably for years at losing weight and dieting. My marriage was falling apart, my parents were embarrassed of me, and I was short-tempered with my children. It was extremely difficult to climb up my stairs or to tie my shoes. I found Dr. Frantzides online and met with him. Our first meeting was over 2 hours long! He… was such a genuine and compassionate man. He explained so many aspects of the surgery, but most importantly he explained why he stands out from the rest. Within 4 weeks of our 1st meeting, (and all the appropriate tests, bloodwork, EKG’s and x-rays of course) I had Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass Surgery. Recovery was fast, but most importantly… I NEVER HAD ANY NAUSEA, STOMACH CRAMPING, VOMITING or DIARRHEA! NOT ONCE. NOTHING. I’m being completely honest. Other than feeling full faster than I used to, I feel like I never had surgery. Dr. Frantzides always preserves the VAGUS NERVE when he re-sections your stomach, and because of this, NONE of his patients get “Dumping Syndrome”. I couldn’t be happier. I have lost over 100 pounds so far in 8 months post-surgery. I’m eating healthy and actually enjoy exercise. My marriage has turned around and I’m finally learning to love myself again. My only complaint is, I wish I had done this years ago. Dr. Frantzides is the best.

Dr. Constantine Frantzides is an AMAZING surgeon! He performed a complicated Nissen Fundoplication on me back in 2006. It was life-changing. I'm off of PPI meds, and no longer have any dietary restrictions. He and his staff (Teresa!) could not be more caring. Although out of my insurance network, he was totally worth the cost. Highly, highly recommend!

Dr. Frantzides has completely changed my life, for the positive, three times! He performed laparoscopic gastric bypass on me, which helped me lose over 100 pounds. Minimal pain, maximum results and guided me through every step of the process. He even told me the questions I SHOULD have asked because it was important to know the answers. After I lost weight he performed a hernia repair with excess skin removal, where he removed 18 pounds of excess skin. While I didn’t think he could possibly be telling the truth when he said it would be almost pain free, it was! I had an incision from hip-to-hip and very little pain. In fact, only used pain killers for less than a week, from the pain of a drain, not pain from the incision. Dr. Frantzides tells you the truth, and if you need immediate care, he tells you what you need to do and how to do it, and will call you at home to see how you are managing. The third time he drastically impacted my life for the positive was when my… mom was having some problems with her lap-band, that another doctor had placed in her. Dr. Frantzides suspected serious problems and immediately sent her for some tests only to discover her band slipped up around her esophagus. When we walked in to this is not an “if” we will operate, this is a “when” will we operate. He made it clear that this was urgent, and would not be easy. Her surgery was longer than expected and she had some minimal complications but she was so at ease, because of his successes with our family. He also saw her at least once a day in the hospital and called her if he wanted to check in if he felt she was uneasy about anything. Compassionate, , exemplarary and honorable are just three words to describe him. He will never rush your appointment, he will listen to your questions & concerns and he truly becomes a partner in your healthcare. He is extremely skilled at what he does in the operating room and then has the remarkable ability to make his patients feel like we are all part of his family. I know this was a very long review and I could write more and more because he stands out so far above the rest!

Dr. Frantzides took excellent care of me performing 2 major surgeries on me in the same day. He went above and beyond anything I could have expected, and followed up quite frequently after surgery to make sure I was doing ok. A very knowledgeable surgeon and answered all my questions and concerns with strait forward answers. Would I use him again? Of coarse!

Dr. Frantzides is as good as they get. He’s incredibly experienced and knowledgeable. A pioneer in laparoscopic surgery, he literally “wrote the book” on gastric bypass procedures. I also appreciate his compassion. When I was contemplating surgery, he took almost 2 hours to answer all my questions. Not only did he make me comfortable, but he also addressed my wife’s concerns. We knew before going in that we were in good hands. The surgery went off without a hitch. The experienced surgical team was like a well-oiled machine. After the surgery, Dr. F provided me with his personal cell phone and made himself available 24 hours. That’s right…no answering service, just a direct call to the doctor! And many thanks to Teresa, the kind and caring assistant who kept everything on track from paperwork, insurance, scheduling, questions…you name it! My surgery was a perfect success, and I already feel like a new (better) person!

Dr Frantzides is a great, passionate and skillful doctor. When he performed my surgery I was at a point that my life was unbearable. I could breathe, eat or go up and down the stairs. My stomach, which had been operated on twice before was taking a toll on my daily life. Dr Frantzides gave me the strength to have the surgery that other Drs have refused to do. He showed me the procedure and gave me hope. It eight years since my surgery and I’m enjoying my life. Every day I think of Dr Frantzides and even only for a minute thank God he created such a skillful and compassionate man. Even now if I have a question about my health I still call him for advice and he is so caring. When I was having my surgery I told my husband That Dr Frantzides and God would be there and I would do my part to make sure I did exactly as the doctor said. I tell anyone who is having stomach issues how fantastic hDr Frantzides is a a doctor and a caring person.

Amazing Doctor- Gave me my life back!!

I had prior two lap bands placed and both failed. As a matter of fact the last one eroded into my stomach. I consulted many surgeons who were reluctant to even operate on me the "open way". A friend of mine told me that a co-worker who had the same problem was operated by this surgeon in Chicago. I researched Dr. F and I was impressed with the testimonials he had at an obesity website. Though I had to travel to Chicago, I decided to consult with Dr. F. He spend at least two hours with me explaining all the options as well as the expected outcomes. Compared to the other Drs. I've seen before he appeared passionate, extremely knowledgeable, confident, and he didn't hesitate to offer me a laparoscopic approach to my problem. I knew that he was out of network with my insurance but that was of no concern to me. I wanted the best. I was operated 3 months ago. This was as expected difficult operation, and took several hours but Dr. F managed to do it laparoscopically. Part of my stomach had… to be removed (where the band eroded into it) but still this brilliant and gifted surgeon managed to do it as promised. The nurses at St. Francis Hospital all rave about him, he is like a "rockstar"!! I stayed at the hospital for 1 day, and I was send home with some dietary restrictions. He even fixed my hiatal hernia. Now I have no reflux, and I lost 62 pounds so far. When I saw him a few days ago, I was trying to tell him how much I appreciate his work. The doctor said "if you want to thank somebody, thank the nurses and the team because without them I cannot do what I do". Anyhow, I take this opportunity to thank the doctor, the nurses, and his team but most importantly Teresa. I have to acknowledge that when I called the office I was in a desperate condition and I felt helpless. This young woman put me at ease and made the initial appointment and the follow ups so easy. She spend time after time on the phone and she checked on me almost every day the first week after my surgery. THANK YOU !!!!

Look no further, Dr. Frantzides is the best you will find. I had been searching for answers for months. I had been to 5 other physicians, with 5 different or wrong diagnoses. My health issues were consuming my life. I had pain and difficulty sitting, driving, and standing. I was unable to clear my bowels. Finally, a friend recommended Dr. Frantzides. I went for my first consult and he was the first doctor to order the appropriate diagnostic testing to determine the exact diagnosis and extent of my medical issues. His degree of knowledge and expertise is truly beyond compare. His level of compassion and professionalism is above and beyond. His office brings medical care to a whole new level. You will never be treated better, I guarantee. I cannot even begin to tell you how completely satisfied I am with the results of my extensive surgery. I feel like a new person. To think that he can accomplish the kinds of surgeries he does with his minimally invasive techniques, he is amazing. Dr.… Frantzides' office manager, Teresa, is also exceptional. She is extremely helpful, equally compassionate and very organized and efficient. I have been working in the medical field myself, for 35 years. I have never seen such fabulous team work and care. They are truly concerned about their patients and you will feel that each and every time you walk through their door. The same is true for the actual hospital and surgical experience with them.
