Dr. Cordus Raymond Easington, MD

My mother is at CGH Hospital being cared for by Dr Easington and I am her guardian. Despite several hospitalizations under his care, and many concerns expressed by me that my mom is in an extreme cognitive decline and a danger to live alone, he released her without any Neuro cognitive testing. She was released multiple times and subsequently caused three car accidents injuring herself and others. In her current hospital stay of 27 days following a fall alone in her apartment that took over two hours for her to get to a phone to call for help, he still has not had her tested despite a test done by an occupational therapist indicating probable dementia as well as a psychiatrist siting memory deficits. In 27 days of hospitalization after many requests to speak to him as her guardian, he has only called twice when forced by management. During these calls my concerns for my mother’s care were voiced and I asked for three very simple things to be taken care of for her. I asked for… medical care (it is a hospital after all), safety (my mom escaped the hospital twice despite my warnings of her elopement risk and a previous AMA elopement under his care at another time). I also asked for communication to include further details on an apparent mild stroke in her CT (which I did not get). Following this, the hospital was going to send my mother to the worst rated (by Medicare) psych hospital with horrifying reviews and multiple law suits for physical abuse and neglect as well as over medication to sedate patients unnecessarily. The “do no harm” portion of his oath has been completely forgotten or ignored. My mother also has said he yelled at her in the hospital.
