Dr. Corey Michael Hatfield, DO

He is a horrible doctor. He said I have ankylosing spondylitis based entirely on a genetic marker and no symptoms of that. I said I would never do injections so he said there was no point in seeing him again. He said that SA only responded to injections and not methotrexate. His is very rude and I question his ability to make the proper diagnosis. I saw him for less than 5 minutes today.

I had initial eval for rheumatoid conditions with Dr. Hatfield last week. I found him to be condescending, rude and unprofessional. His demeanor is entirely unsuited for his chosen profession! His physical "exam" included random/unannounced grabbing of my arms, legs and buttocks in several places to presumably(?) get a reaction of pain from me. After telling him I prefer to avoid long-term pharmaceuticals as a treatment solution, he was condescending and asked why I wasted his/my own time to be seen. All of this BEFORE running diagnostics and after the aforementioned physical "exam." He stated during exam that test results come back in 7-10 days, yet he instructed his office staff to schedule a follow up in 2 mos. Needless to say, I've called my GP to request a referral to a different practice.

Dr. Hatfield does not have the disposition needed for his line of medical care. He is dismissive and arrogant. I would not recommend seeing him as a rheumatologist.

Hatfield doesn't even deserve to have Dr beside his name. When my wife first saw him in 2014, she had been on a steroid, due to pain, for several years. Her prior doctor had moved and his is who ACL put her with. On our very first visit, he started bullying her and stripped her of her steroid without weaning her off. This sent her into her first major lupus flare, which required hospitalization. The flare caused scarring in her lungs and she was discharged from the hospital on oxygen. She never recovered and came off oxygen because of him. His own colleagues came to visit my wife in the hospital and told us he was wrong for stripping instead of weaning. I wanted to sue but my wife said no. Now that she is gone, I want everyone to know what a jerk he is.

Dr. Hatfield has done more harm than good with my sister’s RA diagnosis! She was recently diagnosed and referred to this facility for further care and treatment. She has not been able to walk or stand for any length of time. Some days her hands have been so sore and inflamed she could not drive. Her job requires much standing and walking and she has not been able to perform those duties. She requested short-term disability through her employer and it was granted. Now, because Dr Hatfield does not believe in nor will he sign her disability paperwork, she may not receive the disability pay. So this has caused additional stress for her and stress exacerbates the inflammation raging in her joints! What has happened to Dr’s that take care of the “whole” person? She would most definitely have not chosen Dr. Hatfield if she had known his stance on signing disability paperwork. Please, please be careful when booking Dr Hatfield for care. Praise God she has a new Dr. in a different… practice that has treated her like a person and is more aggressively working to gain control of her RA! This practice and Dr. Hatfield will never be recommended by my sister or any one she knows. Completely the worst care and experience I have ever been a part of.

He spent about 5 minutes with me, most of that time he was typing on the computer. He poked me in 4 spots, seemed to take it personally that I could not tolerate methotrexate, sent in an rx then rushed me out while I was still trying to ask questions about RA. I was almost in tears when I left.

Dr Hatfield has zero people skills. He sat down, never laid a hand on me to check reflexes, listen to my heart, never made eye contact. It was supposed to be a 45 minute new patient consultation and he was out of there in under 10 minutes. Very dismissive of any question or comment I made. I had blood drawn 2 weeks ago and have not heard one thing from his office. If you want a physician that listens to their patient, Dr Hatfield is definitely not one of them.

On my one, and only, appointment with this incompetent physician, I was treated so poorly that it still infuriates me to think about it four years later! His was the poorest communicator I had ever experienced, was extremely rude, dismissive, arrogant, and he completely discounted my severe symptoms of debilitating chronic back pain, due to ‘severe arthritis’,;according to my recent MRI.. He questioned why I was referred to him, implied that I was there to get narcotics, didn’t recommend any tests; and asked me what I wanted him to do for me. I asked how he would normally help someone with this diagnosis-asking if there was any blood work, or further tests he could run to diagnose and treat me. His response was, ‘well I can run tests if you want me to, but I doubt they will show anything.’. What the #@$#!!!!! A week or so after the tests were run, he has an administrative assistant call to tell me I have rheumatoid arthritis and that he wants me to start on a handful of… serious medications, without further discussion. Don’t waste your time with this callous, inconsiderate physician!

At my first appointment with him I thought he was going to be a good dr, but the more I have seen him I have changed my mind. He replaced my original dr. that retired, but he's not as near as good. It feels like he is rushing you. You are in and out of there in 10 minutes or less. He doesn't do very much of an examination and he doesn't really listen to you. I have several serious problems and have tried to get my disability but he has been against me. Alot of people get their disability on just one of the things that I have. He has not helped me because I still have the same symptoms that I had when I started seeing him.
