Dr. Corey Lee Smith, DDS

I went to this office for the first time a little over eight months ago. It was a nice environment and the staff was polite. The dentist (Dr. Smith) told me that I had some cavities that needed to be drilled and filled. Since I've never had cavities before, I was a bit suspicious. I sent my X-rays to a friend who is a dentist who advised against getting the fillings as he didn't see anything notable on the X-rays. Just this week I went for my bi-yearly cleaning to an alternative office, where I had another set of X-rays done. Just as I suspected, I had no cavities and no fillings were recommended. I hate to write a negative review, but it would have been horrible if I had my teeth drilled and fillings placed for no reason. Very glad I got a second opinion before having a procedure done.

Dr. Smith was not friendly or helpful. He did not even talk to me and didn't even ask if I had any questions ... was very rough. I was not happy .

The worst in town. The front desk was rude and the dental assistant didn't know at all how to do her job.

Lost a filling so I called and got in quickly. I am a patient and had to cancel my scheduled cleaning so when I called to get the list filling fixed I git scheduled for my cleaning on the same visit. My clean teeth feel awesome and Corey was was quick replacing and old lost filling . Can expect much more from this group. Corey Smith thank you for having your own practice now. Very attentive to my needs and all the kindness in the office atmosphere. Wishing you much success always!

The right dental health partner for you is the dentist who is wholly concerned with your overall health and not the health of his pocketbook. Dr. Corey Smith seems to be the latter category of dentists. Our recent experience with Dr. Corey Smith's dental practice has been rather disappointing to say the least. My husband and I had full set X-rays done by the hygienist in Dr. Smith's office during our last visit and our insurance did not cover it because Dr. Smith routinely wants to give all his patients full set X-rays every three years regardless of ones health and our insurance covers the full-set X-rays every five years. So we receive a bill from Dr. Smith's office stating that we owe $260 for the X-rays. Well, I was quite surprised to see that Dr. Smith was charging us the full provider fee, because Dr. Smith signed a legally binding agreement with our dental insurance provider, United Concordia, to only bill patients no more than the Maximum Allowable Charge amount of… $64 for each of us. So Dr. Smith's office was billing us over twice the amount that we should have been charged. I immediately called Dr. Smith's office and Meghan answered the phone and I explained that billing error and asked her to correct it. She told me that they can charge me whatever they want and I have to pay it. I tried explaining to her that Dr. Smith signed an agreement to discount his fee for all non-covered services. She told me that she is all alone in the office and didn't have time to deal with this and hung up. Well, then I made a call to United Concordia, and spoke with the customer service rep and explained to her what happened. She put me on hold and called Dr. Smith's office. After being on hold for a while she got back to me and said that Meghan was being very argumentative with her on the phone and refused to listen to her. The customer service rep was shocked and said that this was no error on the part of Dr. Smith's office since the EOB (Explanation of Benefits) specifically states that they can charge no more than the current Maximum Allowable Charge. So the customer service rep ended sent a letter to Dr. Smith's office specifically stating that they can only charge us no more that $64 each for the X-rays. Dr. Smith's office finally corrected the bill because they had no choice. One has to wonder how many other patients of his are they more than double billing. Most patients would have probably gone ahead and paid the $260 but I actually pay attention to details and made a call to my dental insurance company to ask what the Maximum Allowable Charge schedule is. Had I not done that I would have never known. Dr. Smith purchased his dental practice from another dentist, and appears to be inflating the margins and inflating the value of the practice with unnecessary diagnostic procedures and then over-billing uninformed patients. Needless to say, we are going back to our old dentist. Worth the long drive to have an honest dentist!!!

My wife and I visited Dr. Smith’s office as first visit patients to have routine cleaning and X-rays covered by our insurance. His support staff were told we only wanted procedures covered by our insurance policy at 100%. Staff went ahead and performed other procedures not covered at 100%, which resulted in an unexpected bill. Upon receiving the bill and calling and discussing the charges with staff, they adamantly insisted that all of the tests (x-rays) performed were “routine” tests required by Dr. Smith and that our insurance company was to blame for not paying 100% as is stated in our policy for “routine” tests. They insisted that they “don’t know” what is classified as “ routine or non-routine” as defined by every insurance company! Frankly, that is ridiculous! They know or should know that certain tests/x-rays are not routine and being performed would result in a bill for the patient. Staff should be upfront about test that will result in charges to the patient,… particularly when the patient specifically stated they only want tests performed that are covered by insurance. Staff at this office hide under the term “routine” because Dr. Smith says they are “routine”, without consideration to the patient’s request. As far as I’m concerned, this is a very deceptive practice that should not occur. BEWARE INSURANCE PATIENTS! You will incur charges at this dental office and will not be told upfront that some of the their “routine” tests are actually non-routine and billable to the patient.
