Dr. Corwin Mansell Smith, MD

Corwin M. Smith, M.D., F.A.C.S. joined the staff of Cincinnati Eye Institute (CEI) in 1986, after acquiring more than 15 years experience as a solo practitioner performing general medical and surgical Ophthalmology.

Upon graduation from University of Cincinnati, where he earned both his Bachelor of Science and Medical Degrees, he interned for one year at Northwestern University's Passavant Hospital in Chicago. Dr. Smith then completed a three year Residency in Ophthalmology at Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus and served two years of active duty in the U.S. Army. He was certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology in 1970. At CEI, Dr. Smith specializes in medical Ophthalmology and laser surgery with particular emphasis on YAG laser surgery of the anterior segment of the eye.

Dr. Smith currently serves on the medical staff of Bethesda, Jewish, Christ, Children's and Good Samaritan Hospitals. He is a member of the Cincinnati Academy of Medicine, the Cincinnati Society …of Ophthalmology (Past President), the Ohio State Medical Association, the Ohio Ophthalmological Society, the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
