Dr. Cory S. Wertz
Dr. Wertz is a caring and compassionate family, cosmetic dentist, and restorative dentist who provides exemplary care for beautiful smiles. He enjoys building strong patient relationships and helping people of all ages achieve optimal oral health. A proponent of prevention, Dr. Wertz works to safeguard teeth and gums for a lifetime of healthy smiles.
Dr. Wertz is a native of Toledo, Ohio. He earned his undergraduate degree in chemistry and microbiology from the University of Arizona. He attended The Ohio State University College of Dentistry, where he received his DDS in 1999. Dr. Wertz moved to Tucson in 2000 to begin his dental career.
Dr. Wertz and his wife, Holly, have two sons; Logan is 5 and Trevor is 1 year old. When not being entertained by his boy's antics, Dr. …Wertz likes to travel, hike, ski, and indulge his hobby of amateur photography.

Wendy Lara,
Office Manager
Wendy will be the first person to greet you with a warm, welcoming smile.  She keeps our office running smoothly and efficiently.  Wendy has nearly 15 years of experience in many aspects of dentistry.  Her knowledge of everything dental has made her an integral and valuable member of our Thornydale Dental team.  She takes great pride in her ability to help our patients in a variety of ways, from understanding dental procedures to deciphering the confusing aspects of dental insurance.
Wendy enjoys spending time with her busy family.  They like to go fishing weekly and are dedicated sports fans.  Football and basketball are their favorite sports to follow, especially when the University of Arizona is playing.

Shawn Lee,
Dental Hygienist
Shawn has been with Thornydale Dental since its inception. His expertise and gentle skills as a hygienist are truly exceptional. Many of our patients credit him with giving them the ability to move beyond a lifelong fear of dental visits. He gets to know our patients personally, developing close relationships with most. Our patients love his attention to detail, gentle technique, and personal hygiene coaching.
In his free time, Shawn enjoys spending time with his daughter Alexis. His hobbies include golf, softball, snowboarding, and U of A sporting events. Shawn is a member of the American Dental Hygiene Association.

Tammy Flynn,
Dental Assistant
Tammy’s ability to put patients at ease is a skill she has mastered and perfected during her 25 plus years of dental assisting. Her clinical skills are phenomenal; she is always one step ahead and in tune with every detail of the task at hand. Her careful management of our sterilization, lab, and clinical supplies contribute greatly to the overall success of our office.
Tammy enjoys spending time with her husband, David, who is a blacksmith and artist. His work is currently on display in Oro Valley Marketplace. Tammy and David have two children, Dena and Darcy, who live in Tempe. In her free time, Tammy enjoys walking, reading, cooking, and playing horseshoes. She is a past recipient of the Pima County Humanitarian Award.

Megan Leidenz,
Administrative and Clinical Assistant
Megan is truly excited to be a part of our team.  She is a full time student at the University of Arizona majoring in psychology.  She is greatly valued for her ability to help in all aspects of our office from the front desk to sterilization.
Megan is a newlywed and in her spare time enjoys Broadway Performances, baking and reading.
