Dr. Courtney Beth Certain, DO

Dr. Certain is originally from Miles City, Montana. She earned her bachelor of science in Nursing from Regis University in Denver, Colorado after which she worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital in downtown Denver for 3 years. She later earned her medical degree from Pacific Northwest University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Yakima, Washington. Following her medical education, she moved to Columbus, Ohio to complete an internal medicine residency at OhioHealth’s Riverside Methodist Hospital. Dr. Certain always loved medicine as well as education; her path through the healthcare system and higher education is indicative of her dedication to both. It was her goal to return to her home state so she could provide care for the people she felt most connected to."A person's overall health is so much more than just blood work and imaging. My philosophy is to balance western healthcare with a holistic approach to medicine. I focus on the patient’s sense of self in hopes of creating a strong …patient-practitioner relationship to provide comprehensive and collaborative care. I take pride in my approachability as a doctor and hope that my practice will be physically, emotionally and spiritually healing for those that I work with."As a board certified internal medicine physician, Dr. Certain enjoys seeing a wide range of conditions, as well as, a wide range of acuity as this necessitates being a lifelong learner. She is passionate about evidenced based, guideline driven medicine and fitting that to the individual patient. When she is not at work, Dr. Certain enjoys spending time with her dog (Louis), exploring new areas of Montana with her family and looks forward to becoming involved with the Billings’ S.T.E.M. community focusing on educating children in the sciences!
