Dr. Courtney Janine Hart, MD

If you want your kids to be treated by a caring pediatrician, do not waste your time with Dr. Hart at capital area pediatrics because you will be very disappointed. My kids had been under her care for 5 years and this last year something changed in her. I don’t know if it was the pandemic or personal issues, or she just got sick of us, but she started to treat us the same way many others have complained about her. She is rude, condescending, talks down to you like you’re wasting her time, and has no personal bedside manners whatsoever. I’ve never met anyone working with children with such a cold heart. We asked her to release a medication form to my sons school so they could give him Motrin if and when he got a fever, since he has a history of febrile seizures. This is something she had done for us in the past. Something so simple turned into a huge deal for Dr. Hart. She first tried to send us to his neurologist, then when we couldn’t find a time that worked with both our schedules… to do a telehealth appointment she messaged me on the portal saying “I’ll just message you on here so you don’t have to inconvenience your schedule”. I asked her why this was such a hassle for her and wondered if she still wanted to be my kids pediatrician. To which she replied “your discharge from the practice will be forthcoming”. When we went to the owner to mediate the situation they told us it was up to Dr. Hart to keep us in the practice. My son and daughter were both sick and they told us they could no longer cere for them. Capital area pediatrics gave this woman the power to kick us out for NOTHING. I have never in my life met someone so cold hearted, to kick my kids to the curb over a disagreement. Shame on Dr. Hart and shame on capital area peds for accepting this unprofessional, unacceptable behavior to happen. This would never be allowed in any other health care setting. It’s clear capital area peds DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR KIDS WELLBEING. My kids deserve better. I would recommend Great Lakes Pediatrics or Pediatric Care of Lansing, which both have way better reviews.

I couldn’t believe the two bad reviews I read on here because those words couldn’t possibly describe our children’s doctor. I am a health professional myself and have been disappointed many times in other doctors’ bedside manner. Dr. Hart is not one of those doctors. Plain and simple, she CARES. She always follows up with us, always calls, always does what she says she will. She knows what she is talking about and has never misdiagnosed our kids. I trust her and know she looks after my children’s well-being as if they were her own. I would highly recommend her as a pediatrician.

Dr. Hart on several occasions neglected to follow though on issues with my children. She also missed a life threatening injury to my daughter which resulted in her being hospitalized. I am appauled by the lack of simply caring about my children. I do not trust her AT ALL. I feel she is merely capable of diagnosing an ear infection and that it! Do not go there if you want real care.

This office is very organized, I never wait long, can always get an appointment when my children are sick. Dr. Hart always asks if I have any questions before I leave, I have never felt rushed and she shows sincere compassion always.

Dr. Hart has worked with all three of my children and I have been very impressed with each contact. This is to the extent that I recently moved out of the area and continue to take my children to see her, despite the drive time. My children also have experienced rather complicated issues at times, and she always takes the time to listen to me and provide me with the options. I recommend her highly.

Dr. Hart is one of the worse Doctor I have ever visited in my life. She has a horrible attitude, act like that she is doing a favor by seeing your child. She has no compassion for human pain & suffering especially for kids. I wish her M.D license be revoked and would not allow to practice especially in the pediatrician field.
