Courtney L Miller, MS, SLP-CF

Courtney has always had an interest in the power of communication. During her undergraduate studies, Courtney had her own “Athletic Spotlight” column, in which she interviewed coaches, trainers, and student-athletes in order to help discover their personal story on why they started. This passion has prompted her to pursue a career in which she can help individuals find their voice and refine it. She graduated from Iona University with a Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, and received her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology degree from Misericordia University. Courtney started her career in early intervention, in which she worked with children from ages 0-3 with communication and feeding difficulties. Since starting with St. Luke’s, she has completed additional trainings including the SOS (Sequential Oral Sensory) Feeding Approach to help children with feeding disorders as well as the Meaningful Speech course for gestalt language processing and …Natural Language Acquisition (NLA). Courtney is a trained clinician who understands how to work with children who communicate with delayed echolalia (scripting). She has completed the Language Acquisition through Motor Planning (LAMP) course to aid AAC users with communication as well as PROMPT (Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets) training to assist children with speech-sound and motor planning disorders. Courtney wants to continue to grow in her feeding training as well as continue to implement a multimodal approach to communication, through verbal language, sign language, and alternative-augmentative communication (AAC) devices.
