Dr. Courtney Laurette Simmons, MD

I stared seeing her after another doctor left the practice. Big Mistake! All she cared about was cutting pain meds back. It got so bad that I left there and found another doctor. She does not like getting questioned either. She can be very rude!

Twice she wrote the prescription incorrectly. The second time she made me wait 50 minutes just to correct her mistake. I was told by the nurse to come in at 9:00 and still had to wait almost an hour. My last visit she told me she was reducing my medication without even examining me or asking about my pain level. She seems more concerned about government control than actually helping the patient with their pain. I feel like she's playing at being a doctor. She can treat scrapes and bruises, but anything more serious she doesn't know what to do. I criticized her competence to the nurse, two days later I received a letter saying our doctor patient relationship was incompatible and I should seek treatment elsewhere. This was fine by me because I had already found another doctor. I can see why she only got accepted into one medical school.

I am not happy with Dr. Simmons. She never asks about my pain. She keeps reducing pain meds until I no longer have pain control. I refuse to see her again. Not very pleasant.

Not friendly at all!

I have been seeing Dr. Simmons for about 2 years. I have found her to be very caring as I have several medical issues. She follows through and discusses issues and options. She always reviews my other medical records before deciding appropriate treatment.

It's hard to believe I went to the same doctor that these reviews were made, as I found he quite the contrary. Dr Simmons spent much time with me, she was patient, understanding, thorough and knowledgeable. She secured my records from my neurologist. She was anything but condescending. She performed tests on me and did not over prescribe medicine. Her nurse assistant and new doctor were the best I have ever seen with positive down to earth conversations. I am glad I found her and strongly recommend her for pain management vs surgery.

Dr. Courtney Simmons is a welcome addition to SMH. She is has a great bedside manner as does her entire staff. She has been able to stop the pain in my back.

She has already made her decision before she sees you. She is demeaning and she’s angered if you ask questions. It’s very sad. She shouldn’t be in pain management if she doesn’t care to manage pain.

She has little or no understanding of the patient pain. ... she has a set agenda. .. Also was in and out in 7 minutes. ..

She is not patient or kind. Very condescending.
