I came to see Dr Arntz 1 year ago with pain in my right shoulder. After my initial diagnosis Dr. Arntz advised me to have a complete shoulder replacement. It was easy for me to make the decision to have surgery because Dr. Arntz explained the process of what to be expected from the beginning stages of surgery to the end. Dr. Arntz communicates so well that all I had to do was be a good listener. I would strongly recommend Dr. Arntz and his entire team to anyone who needs shoulder surgery.

Dr. Arntz is the best doctor one could ever hope to have. He is very personable, yet very professional at the same time. And his track record for successful (surgical) outcomes is well, perfect. Hard to imagine that a better doctor exists

I am a male, 67 years old experiencing severe pain in my right should if I slept on my right side at night, the pain would last for hours with no over the counter medications to alleviate the pain. I made an appointment to see Dr. Craig T. Arntz at Proliance Orthopedic Associates in Renton, Washington. Doctor Arntz specializes in Shoulder and Hand Replacement and Rotator Cuff repair. After X-rays of my right shoulder and a MRI were taken, it was clearly evident that I had worn out the cart ledge in my shoulder and I was bone on bone, it addition, I had a small tear the size of a dime in my rotator cup as well. I go to Arizona for 6 month during the winter therefore, I scheduled the shoulder replacement surgery for May 18, 2017 when I returned from Arizona. In the interim, Dr. Arntz gave me a shot of cortisone in my right shoulder to alleviate some of the pain, but this relief would only prove to be temporary as expected. On May 18, 2017 I went in for the surgery, I was… apprehensive about the surgery and the time it would take me to recover. Ten years prior, I had both knee replacement surgeries at the same time by Dr. Barrett at Proliance. My recovery was exceptionally fast and I was back to work in 6 weeks going full bore. With my knee surgery, I was in the Hospital for 4 days with physical therapy after and wondered what would this be like? Pain management after surgery was difficult with sensitivity to many drugs given that I had never used. So it was a lot of trial and error and that was difficult. I could not believe how easy this surgery was and how fast the recovery went. I was in the hospital overnight and went home the next day with my arm in a sling. The pain management after the surgery was exceptional, upon being released from the Hospital, I only required Tylenol for pain relief even though I was prescribed stronger medication to take if necessary. Dr. Arntz not only replaced my shoulder but repaired my torn rotator cup at the same time. Pain Management after the surgery was greatly attended to by Dr. Arntz to make me comfortable after the surgery, which makes recovery faster. Dr. Arntz provided me with a sheet of physical therapy exercises which consisted of stretching the muscles in arm and shoulders to perform at home daily and demonstrated how to do them. I did not require any physical therapy at any outside clinic. The exercises prescribed at the hospital consisted of bicep curls, wall walk, neck and back shoulder isometrics, side raise and shoulder press triceps press. These exercises are designed to return shoulder flexibility and rotation. Within 3 months, I had full motion and arm strength. When I returned to Arizona 5 months after the surgery, I was able to ride my heavy Goldwing motorcycle, mountain bike and swim in the pool pain free. I was again able to sleep on my right side at night totally pain free. Today, 1 year later my shoulder is normal and the 4 inch scar on my chest is barely noticeable. I recently returned from a 2 week back packing trip to Germany and Switzerland with my wife and sons, with no issues what so ever. If you’re at all apprehensive at all about this surgery, don’t be, as they will work with you and actually listen to your concerns to help you through it. The doctors at Proliance are the best you can get. I again live a normal active life that was only made possible with the best Doctors, Dr. Arntz and Dr. Barrett at Proliance. Dr. Arntz has performed at least five surgeries on my hands. Two carpal tunnel surgeries, two Basal Thumb Arthroplasty surgeries and at least one trigger finger surgery. All with wonderful results, especially the Arthroplasty. So glad I did them, sorry I waited so long to get them done. He also performed trigger finger surgery on my husband and Rotator Cuff surgery. No complications & wonderful results. My friend had Rotator Cuff surgery with him, after another Dr messed it up the 1st time with great results.

My occupation is a dentist. I had a torn rotator cuff and was losing my ability to work. Dr. Arntz did a successful repair and I now have 100% range of motion. I am able to work, play, and sleep without any pain. He is a talented, caring man. His orthopedic group, Proliance, does a great job supporting him. I highly recommend both!
