Dr. Craig George Flinders, MD

I've been a patient of Dr. Flinders for over 4 years. He's performed 4 out of the 6 injections I've requested, and while they helped, getting them scheduled was always a struggle—not due to insurance, but due to repeated office mismanagement and sometimes rude staff. After years of pressure, I agreed to a spinal cord stimulator (SCS). I paid for the psych eval and did a successful 7-day trial. When I decided to move forward with permanent implantation, communication broke down. I requested to speak with Dr. Flinders about placement and had questions, but was constantly brushed off or told he’d call—which never happened. Instead, Melissa, the Boston Scientific RN, answered my questions and was far more helpful than his office. On surgery day, after being prepped, Dr. Flinders finally spoke to me and insisted on implanting the device in a spot I specifically said wouldn’t work for me due to my physical limitations. Despite having extended leads available and no medical reason not to… place it where I asked, he refused—saying essentially, "because I said so." I canceled the surgery on the spot, had my IV removed, requested my records, and told them to discharge me from their care. I never fully trusted his office, especially with my meds. I believe part of the issue stemmed from me refusing to transfer my pain management from my Idaho PCP to his Washington office, which would have put me under Washington's stricter regulations. This had been brought up multiple times over the years.

Dr Flinders is friendly, informative and up-front with his approach. He offers choices that are pertinent to your situation and understands personal choices. He is proactive. I highly recommend making an appointment to discuss your situation and possible choices.

Dr Flinders has been managing my fight with pain for a number of years and is very caring and professional. When I had a bout with shingles, seeing him was the only sane way I managed to get through it. A huge thank you to him.

I have seen Dr. Flinders for two separate issues, one was my back and the other was a neck problem from a car wreck. He was very thorough with each case and helped ease the pain. With the back issue he was excellent in knowing the exact spot to give the shot. I would recommend Dr. Flinders and the Pain Clinic to anyone.

Dr. Flinders took a fresh approach to my pain and osteopenia and reversed years of increasing pain. He was personal, took time to review my history and recognize the needs of my lifestyle.

Dr. Flinders is an egomaniac. He doesn't listen because he thinks he has all the answers. I wouldn't advise anyone going to him. If you are looking for relief, seek other options. He will end up hurting you in the long run.
