Dr. Craig Steven Hecht, MD

Will not take questions or listen to patient's input. Argumentative, intolerant, actually said, "Just so you know, I don't give a s____t what any other doctor thinks." Orders tests already given by other providers. Probably as good as he believes he is, but a doctor who refuses patient collaboration is not likely to see a complete picture for proper treatment. Privacy is also a big issue. Waiting room clearly hears him with other patients.

Saw Dr Hecht year for sleep apnea … appointment did not go well my husband came in with me thank God .. dr Hecht came at me with a long tool which he promptly shoved all the way up my nose with out telling me or numbing my nose. I was frightened and went to grab his hand .. he screamed at me “Don’t ever touch me during an exam “ what ??? A medical provider should inform you of what he is going to do and never screams at a patient EVER !! My husband wanted to slap him ! We were horrified of his behavior. Only saying this now because I went to an ENT at Yale Medicine 800 Howard Ave today .. he was kind and gentle and numbed my nose before the exam . Beware of this nut case Dr Hecht ..He is mean and rude should have his license sanctioned

I saw dr hecht nov, dec of 2019, I went to him for severe pulsing in the back of my head and osculating tinnitus. He told me I had migraines. He did not listen to me. I gave him all the symptoms and he ignored me. and blamed it on migraines. He did nothing for me but make me angrier. He then sent me to a neurologist friend of his, and he also told me it was migraines. The MRA my original ent had me get to show dr hecht showed the blood vessels and yet he missed it all. I would never recommend this doctor. I am still looking for relief almost 2 years later. I am so disgusted with the medical profession.

Dr Hecht was recommended to me by a friend. My first impression of him was positive. He took the time to discuss my concerns and we decided to start meds and follow up in 6 weeks. As I made my next appointment the admin gave me a piece of paper with a procedure specified along with instructions not to eat for a few hours before. Never did dr Hecht discuss any procedure for the next appointment. I went home and looked up the procedure and based on MY research I decided that it was worth doing. The day of the test I was numbed then waited a good hour to see Dr Hecht. The wait increased my anxiety and the meds started to wear off. The nurse renumbed me prior to the procedure which was nothing short of torture. I could feel a lot of it. Had it been explained properly by dr Hecht at my first appointment I would likely have decided against it which is why I think he chooses to gloss over things. He recommended another procedure even though everything looks normal. I feel he just likes to… keep his patients coming back and I no longer have confidence that he has my best interests in mind. I could overlook his somewhat condescending personality if I felt he was skilled doctor. Will look elsewhere.

No one would ever accuse Dr. Hecht of being a good listener, or of caring about his patients over his wallet. One might, however, accuse him of being a narcissist and would have hit that nail on the head. Worst experience EVER!! I should have turned and walked out the second I saw his used car salesman smile and the dollar signs in his eyes. I curse myself for not listening to my gut about him. I had such a horrible experience, there's not enough room to share all the grisly details, but the thing that stuck with me the most was my post-surgical experience. It was so much worse than they said it would be and when I said as much one of the staff said: "Yes, we don't tell people the truth about this surgery because if we did they would never have it." Had I been prepared, my recovery could have been much better instead of the NIGHTMARE that it was. When I found myself sitting at my desk at work almost a week post surgery hemorrhaging from my nose, I called in a panic because I… couldn't get it to stop and his response was "Yes, that sometimes happens." When I asked "Why?" he couldn't be bothered to answer me. When I called several weeks later complaining of severe and chronic stuffiness his response was "What did I tell you two weeks ago? I told you-you were doing fine. You're doing fine." Chronic stuffiness, and living as a mouth breather is not fine. I'm worse off than I was before I went in to see him. Don't walk but run away from this Dr. & this practice.

bad surgical experience. In my opinion, I would go to a veterinarian before going back to him.

STAY AWAY. Rude, rough, cuts you off mid sentence. Doesn’t explain what he’s doing. Belittles you and has zero compassion. Never have I met a doctor like this. Terrible. Front desk older woman is just the same rude and obnoxious with an attitude. Just a terrible place.

I am 60 year old, college-educated woman. Dr. Hecht repeatedly called me “sweetheart” and “hon.” His demeanor is inappropriate, his office is unkempt and his people are complicit in carrying out his poorly diagnosed orders.

Does not take the time to listen to patients, rough during procedures, gave wrong instructions for medication use, rude and brash. I do not recommend Dr. Hecht if you need an ENT.

Billing dept doesn't deduct payments from orginal bill. If you don't keep records your bill never goes down. Stay away from this doctor and his billing staff.
