Dr. Craig Michael Matherne, MD

Dr. Matherne injected my knee (Synvisc) without a numbing agent & pain was awful. My husband had an appointment later & told Dr. Matherne I was not happy with him. I decided to return & this time he told me I had bird legs & a big chest! I believe this was how he chose to get back at me. My husband nearly fell out of his chair & I was too shocked to respond. Dr. Matherne is no longer our Primary Care. We have found a very kind & caring Primary Care doctor. I do not recommend Dr. Matherne to anyone!

I have severe depression and only required a doctor to help me get refills for my medication. He came in the room, announced "you're going to die", and then refused to give me any medical support, demanding instead that I get a gastric bypass. He would not hear anything else.

Wonderful Dr. and person. He has helped me tremendously . He proclaims LSU but He is a closet Tennessee Vol fan :)

Dr. Matherne has been wonderful for me.He certainly knows what he's doing and does care about his patients.I get things explained to me where I can understand them, not in the Dr. language.If I call the office or send a message someone trys to get back to me that day.I've had Drs. that don't. I'm blessed to have Dr. Matherne as my Dr.

Switched from Dr. Sweet to Dr. Matherne after being seen by him when Dr. Sweet was not available. So glad "we" did!

Good bedside manner. Gives me the feeling that he cares about me and my health issue.

Dr. Matherne is quick to prescribe medication and generally seems to diagnose without asking a lot of questions to clarify. This could be a pro for some, but most definitely a con for my situation. Also, the office doesn't seem to have an answering service or a pager number to have someone reached for you if an urgent situation were to arise. They, instead, refer you to the hospital which can result in unnecessary medical bills and hours wasted in a waiting room.
