Dr. Cris David Barnthouse, MD

He has his staff practicing medicine for him...they were doing all the talking and finishing all the tasks after surgery. We wanted to know how the x.rays were looking after surgery because the pain did not improve. He said he will come back to talk to us but just left the building, !! we waited for 45 mts invain,and then his staff put the dressing on and essentially completed the visit for him and ushered us out !. So pathetic!! No wonder patients feel ignored and humiliated by idiots like these. We had a terrible outcome from surgery and had to go to another surgeon.

My daughter and I both saw Dr Barnthouse for different shoulder issues. He was thorough in his exams and took an amazing amount of time to explain our issues and possible treatments. We are now both back to full strength and range of motion. He has our respect and gratitude.

I came to Dr. Barnthouse because I thought I was close to needing knee surgery and wanted to connect with a Dr. affilated with St. Luke's. Dr. Barnthouse's assistant had numerous (expensive) x-rays done of my knees. He examined me fairly throughly. However, when Dr. Barnthouse came in he was very rude, thoughtless and arrogant. He basically said "Of course you hurt, you're overweight" He offerred no treatment options and zero compassion. His only recommendation was that I "lose all the weight" but "no weight bearing exercise. My daughter was with me and was shocked by his attitude and behavior. This Dr. made me feel like I had disgusted him and took up his valuable time. I will never return to him again.

I went to him to have my shoulder looked at because of serious pain! After seeing him, oh I don't know, about 20 times he finally preformed surgery. After my surgery and therapy my shoulder felt 10 times worse! I went back to him and he pretty much told me there was nothing else he could do for me! I was very disappointed and discouraged because I knew there was something else wrong and he did nothing about it! I would not recommend him to anyone else! He is SO hard to understand and seems like he could care less about his patients! Do not go see him and if you already have DO NOT let him preform surgery on you!! I do not know how he is about knees but I wouldn't with your shoulder unless you don't care about your range of motion!

I thought my problem was fixed but after my surgery it was worse! I hardly have any mobility and had to go to another doctor to have a second surgery to fix the first one because he said there was nothing else he could do for me. To me that is not what a "doctor" is supposed to do. They are supposed to fix your problem and if they do not at least try and help you if it still hurts or feels worse than before.

Dr. Barnthouse performed knee surgery on my wife first and the outcome was good so I chose him for my rotator cuff shoulder surgery and recent knee surgery. I can't imagine anyone else doing a better job on my shoulder. He used anchors, and reinforced stitches inside the shoulder to bring the tear together and allow it to mend. I'm pain free and can work out as much as I want. I couldn't ask for a better outcome. My knee surgery was yesterday and I expect the same result.
