I had done a colonoscopy 10 yrs ago in a different hospital without any problems. Unfortunately my doctor retired, so I came to Dr. Conga. I scheduled to have one done with Dr. Conga over a month ago, but I ended up in the ER instead by an ambulance before the exam. Choosing Dr. Conga was a huge mistake, it almost costed me my life! Up until today I am still trying to recover from the traumatic ordeal mentally and physically, and I have been suffering from low energy, nausea, dizziness, headaches & nightmare for weeks, and left with thousands of dollars of medical bills to pay. Do all you can to AVOID him, so you don’t have to go through what I did. My exam was scheduled at 1:50 pm, and I was instructed to do all the prep at home the night before. Halfway through drinking the prep solutions (4 Liters), my bowel was already clear; but the instructions say: one MUST finish drinking it All, so I did. The frequent restroom visits kept me up all night & the one size fits all prep depleted… my body by morning, I felt very weak & afraid of cold. After I arrived at the surgery center, I had to change into the thin gown provided, it was freezing cold & I started to shiver. Lying there while the nurses were prepping me for the IV, Dr. Conga came in. I heard him converse with someone there about why he arrived a bit early: it’s a slow day so far, maybe we can get off early. In the meantime I felt worse: my fingers & toes started getting numb, soon a cramping started on my limbs. Then he declared that I looked too pale to have the exam, I might be severely dehydrated, may be of electrolyte dysfunction. Seeing me suffering from cramping, one nurse asked if she could start the IV drip since prep was all finished. Dr. Conga said NO & instructed them to call 911, get an ambulance to send me to ER instead. My husband told him this might make the situation worse, but he wouldn’t listen. While waiting for the ambulance, my symptoms worsened. My entire body started cramping badly, I couldn’t breathe normally. I was still conscious and heard people talking: Why isn’t the ambulance here yet? Someone said that they probably couldn’t get in because the entrance was blocked by the construction in our parking lot... Finally I was taken out of the surgery room with only a thin gown. The minute we hit outside, my muscle stopped working because of the freezing cold temperature. I felt like being trapped in a tight wet body suit which was shrinking very rapidly, I was literally gasping for air. Fortunately the ER was just on the other side of the same building, and I got helped right away. They checked my vitals and did many tests, and all the results came out fine, so I was cleared to leave right away. I was only suffering a severe dehydration which was induced by the Colonoscopy prep, just like what Dr. Conga said. The only med given to me in the ER was the IV drip; and Dr. Conga had that in his surgery room too but he refused to use it to help me. Around 3 pm, my ER doctor called Dr. Conga on my behalf and requested to have me re-admitted for the colonoscopy since the surgery center opens until 4 pm. But Dr. Conga refused; he claimed some of his staff had already left for the day. When the ER nurse paged Dr. Conga again and offered him to use their facility in the ER for it, he once again said NO. Looking back I didn’t remember Dr. Conga even talked to me directly; he was very cold and I was referred as she or her the entire time. I was treated like a parcel in a warehouse; he just wanted to push me out so he doesn’t have to deal with it. What can be worse than incompetence? Indifference and inaction!!! Dr. Conga had both the expertise and the means but did not care enough to help me, and it brought me so much pain and suffering. Avoid him at all cost, or it will cost you!

nice man but wasn't able to help me after numerous tests. He was unknowledgeable about treatment options and seemed to only push two drugs (Nexium and Dexilant) that ended up being noneffective. He referred me to a colleague of his after months of tests and little relief from pain.

Dr Canga was a very caring and patience doctor, He listened to my issues and scheduled me a follow at St Francis for the procedures. It was a good experence since I don't think anyone really wants to have these things done
