Great Man

Dr. Berces is an extraordinarily skilled diagnostician and spends a great deal of time with patients, both myself and my mother who is at a nursing home. He listens, asks questions and does a comprehensive exam as if you're the only patient he has. He stays focused on you and doesn't talk about himself, the weather or the news of the day like so many physicians do. At the end of the exam, he asked if all my concerns were addressed. Because of his thoroughness, I felt totally assured that I did not have meningitis. I was nervous about my symptoms because I had meningitis before. He reassured me that I did not have a recurrence and then added, "If you don't feel better by tomorrow, call me and tell the answering service to directly page me." At the nursing home where he takes care of my elderly Mom, the staff groans about him "taking too much time" with his patients. That says it all.
