We arrived on time for my daughters appointment and was told that we would need to pay a consult fee. I asked to talked to the lady that handles the Insurance and ask why that it wasn't part of the surgery cost since she was indeed scheduled to have the surgery and we were told that because she is Type I Diabetic she has to pay consult fee and it must be paid separately. Isn't that discrimination? ... ask NAACP.... that's a Big Yes After watching a video and the nurse trying to take her blood sugar 4 times on an outdated glucose monitor that wouldn't work, my daughter finally had to do it herself. We then saw the doctor, he introduced himself and then explained what surgery was like and then asked if we had any questions. He told us about pre surgery eating and he told her NOT to take her nighttime insulin. Besides taking Humalog for meals she takes Lantus before bed which helps keep her from going too high through the night and without it she tends to have very high 500 - 600 sugar… levels which make her Very Nauseous and needing to throw up. I ask him how that would work for surgery with her throwing up etc. and he said not to worry about it, he could fix it. I ask how do you do that? Again he says I have many ways to fix it. I ask (being a concerned parent) ok how do you fix it exactly? And he told me it would take him all day to explain it an not to worry he can handle it but he snippily says he would use medicine, acupressure or hypnosis. Hypnosis on a nauseous person under anesthesia, how does that work? I say I realize that you do this a lot, because you are a Dentist/Oral Surgeon.... but you are not an Endocrinologist that handles Diabetes on a daily basis... I don't understand how it works please tell me because it concerns my child. And he was undoubtedly aggravated at my question because his attitude and answer dripped with sarcasm and he said to me in a very loud, rude manner that he was an EXPERT AT EVERYTHING, and since I doubted that fact I needed to find someone else, his nurse would give me a name and then we needed to leave! WOW!! If you don't want us to ask questions that you can't give a straight answer too.... then don't invite us to ask questions about a procedure that you are about to perform on a loved one. Nurse comes back with another Doctors name and then tried to make it better by saying "You Just Need To Trust Him, he has a WHOLE Box of Stuff In the back that he can use to fix that sort of stuff. Yes Folks - that is what she said....and that made me feel SO MUCH BETTER....Better about him kicking us out! Are you going to just "TRUST" someone with your wellbeing or a loved ones life that can't explain what it is they will do to help you or them if a problem arises? To be so full of themselves as to tell you they are an EXPERT AT EVERYTHING!!! Expert At Everything - Master At Nothing!!!

We were sent by referral to this man for a wisdom tooth extraction. We arrived on time for the appointment and was told to fill out paper work which we did. about ten pages into paperwork there was a paper that needed to be signed saying that payment would be made at time of service, the amount to be paid was written at the bottom of the page it was $1511.00. I took this paper to the receptionist and was told that yes that amount had to be paid for that very morning. I asked why we had not been told that we had to pay this beforehand , the receptionist said they tried to call the day before and left a message on my answering machine. At that time I was driving to the city where the appt. was. I contacted my husband to see what we could do , he suggested asking to date a check for that Friday. The receptionist said she would have to ask the doctor and that we had to wait because he was in surgery. The receptionist then told us the doctor did not want to take our check and that he wanted… us to reschedule our appt. because it had been too long from our appt. time. We had to rent a room, take off of work not just for that day but for a few days because of recovery time, we paid for meals and gas while getting there and back but none of this concerned him. I would never recommend him to anyone.
