Summary
Curtis Dechant, O.D. received his Doctor of Optometry from Pacific University’s College of Optometry in 1997 and earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Alberta in 1993. After receiving his first pair of contact lenses when he was in the 10th grade, Dr. Dechant decided to become an optometrist. Dr. Dechant had worn glasses since the seventh grade and found that wearing contact lenses were a game changer for him, both socially and for playing sports. In practice since 1997, Dr. Dechant’s special field of interest is contact lens fitting including specialty contact lenses for irregular corneas and orthokeratology/corneal refractive therapy for myopia control. Dr. Dechant enjoys being able to provide his patients with visual solutions that can have an immediate and positive impact in their daily lives. He particularly loves being able to offer patients the option of contact lenses, if they desire, regardless of their prescription. In his time away from the office, Dr. …Dechant enjoys spending time with his family, camping, playing golf and going mountain biking and road cycling.
