Dr. Curtis Andrew Hamburg, MD

I just saw Dr. Hamburg for the first time and he was very thorough and took his time/asking questions and answering my questions. Very Nice Doctor--_I would recommend him and his staff was very nice and helpful.

Just OK. Staff used to be better in the past. One of the more recently hired receptionist/scheduler is rude and condescending - sometimes does not even answer phone, and is always in a rush. Dr. Hamburg is friendly, courteous, and seems capable, but note that it is difficult to speak with him directly as he has staff return calls on his behalf. If your matter is urgent it may not be possible to get an appointment right away and you may be forced to see one of the physician assistants instead. Staff does not mail out lab results (many other offices do mail them, which is so convenient!), so you must follow up to obtain results, as the office will only contact you if something is out of normal range.

I found that the doctors did not return calls. After a terrible, end of times diagnosis that I received and many calls to his office after a visit I was told that he would call over the weekend but didn't. Also, during the appt. I was told I should be put on a chloresteol medication. I was not given a prescription that day and after 4 calls to his office the following weeks, he never called back. I opted for a new doctor at Mt Sinai hospital with Dr A Vadillo who saw me immediately, did a cathorization immediately, prescribed Crestor and answered all my questions completely and promptly. A wise choice would be to pass on this doctor and find a doctor elsewhere. Some of his staff are rude as well. I fired this man.

I've been a patient of Dr. Hamburg for many years and each visit endears him more to me. He is the prototype for all physicians - patient, kind, sensitive, caring and most knowledgeable. He explains things in words easily understandable. He does not follow the "10 minute" rule and gives each patient all the time they need, answering any question and addressing each of your concerns. He is a God send!
