Dr. Curtis Jean Hobbs, MD

I saw dr hobbs at MAMH from 2011 to 2014, the only reason i didnt continue to see him was because i lost tricare and he had stopped practicing outside of base. He is the only endo that finally realized what wad going on with my insulin and got me on a medication that actually helped instead of just increasing my dose again like past docrors had. He listened when i told him i was exercising and dieting without success, that with my increasing need for insulin got him to the diagnoses of amlyn deficiency and got me on a medication that lowered my insulin needs and helped me finally lose weight. I had told doctors for years, but none of them believed me and said i must just not realize how much i was eating even after i showed food logs. Doctor Hobbs is an amazing endo and a very caring person, and if you have tricare i highly recommend him, i wish i could still see him.

Dr Hobbs today refused to see me because I couldn’t download my glucose meter, online system was out of order. His office staff told me he see me and he won’t see patients who don’t download their glucose meters prior to appointments; makes them reschedule. Even though they bring their logbooks with all the readings. This is extremely difficult for working individuals who take time off for the appointment and elders who often have to arrange rides to appointments. And he will not renew medical supplies or medicines if patients don’t bring this download putting patients at risk of blood sugars going out of control or greater out of control.
