Dr. Curtis Eugene Mcelroy, DO

He is the best doctor I have ever had!!! He listens and is understanding of your problems and issues. I would HIghly recommend him to anyone who is tired of being ignored by their PCP.

I was quite satisfied with the care provided by Dr. McElroy . He may run behind at times, but I would be concerned about the quality of care I was receiving if he or any internist was able to stick to a 15 minute appointment schedule. The public needs to wake up and acknowledge that if they want to be in and out perhaps urgent care would be more appropriate and not visit the doctor for every sniffle. The population of those over 65 is increasing every year and that population will continue to have complicated medical problems that demand a greater amount of time from their physician. Instead of creating more stress in your life, the office staff and physician because you booked a doctors appointment for 30 min between an business meeting and lunch or another meeting perhaps patients should use the time waiting to relax or read assuming you aren't there for an acute problem. The problem mentioned above regarding the patient having trouble getting a CT scan scheduled was obviously… a management issue. As far as the comment about referring to a surgeon that was a friend of his, would you want to see one that wasn't or the doctor had no experience with. The surgeon was part of the big group at Hillcrest that are primarily used by the physicians needing consults. To improve continuity of care. I would not look at the comment about not caring if patient was seen by surgeon before or after CT scan as inappropriate , but rather a way of expediting further evaluation to help move along getting to the bottom of patients medical issues .

I currently have him as a primary but will be changing soon. Getting in to see him is impossible. This last time was the final. My appointment was for 11:45am but they told me 10:45am. I stayed and waited.....until 1:15pm and still couldn't get back to see him. When I asked about why the long wait, the office staff said they were backed up and the wait could be until 3:30 . How is that possiblepossible with 4 people in the room and 3 doctors in the office? I was then told that I could schedule for 2:15 the next day, but they weren't sure about that time frame.

I chose Dr. McElroy because he had been in the hospital emergency room for years and he was referred to me as a very astute diagnostician. I have seen Dr. McElroy for several issues and visits. Each time, he ACTUALLY looked at me as if I was the most important patient he had. He LISTENED to me and asked pertinent questions and I feel his diagnosis each time was right on. Yes, I did have to wait a bit and took my own book, but when Dr. McElroy was with me he spent as much time as he needed to fully understand my health issues. Every time I leave, I thank God for Doctor McElroy who truly is concerned about each patient and spends as much time as needed (not extra superfluous time, but necessary time) to resolve the medical problem.

I have had such bad luck finding a PCP that I actually liked and trusted. I've been treated kind of bad in the past. I had a lot of anxiety about the visit. They gathered a lot of info on me. I probably waited about 20 -25 minutes to get called back. The nurse was very nice. When I met Dr Mcelroy I immediately felt at ease and he did listen. I have never felt that way about any Dr before. I've only seen him once but I can tell hes a great DR!

My husband and I have not had great luck finding a PCP we like. My first impression when I went to see Dr. Mcelroy wasn't great because of the wait. I was there for about 1.5 hours before he came in. When he was in there he was extremely attentive, made sure you understood what he was saying, and really seemed to care. He even drew me a diagram!!! I realized the reason he took so long to see me was because he actually spent TIME with his patients and seems to genuinely want to figure out what is going on and fix it. I would definately recommend him, he is worth the wait.

Dr. McElroy takes care of patients in his office and provides their care, if they need hospitalization. It is very rare to find a primary care doctor that does both.

Dr McElroy saved my husbands life more than once. The first time we met him he was rushed from one hospital to the one Dr.Mcelroy was working He was so kind he listened to what was going on. The next day I came back and gave him more information he listened he saved him.But more important he listened he was kind and he cared. That was a little over 12 years ago
