Dr. Curtis Townsend Moody, MD

Poor Doctor and incompetent office. Dr. Moody fires off hundreds of questions in a very uncaring way. He's a history buff/note taker. His office never follows up and doesn't send in prescriptions. Save your time, save your breath, save your life! Don't go there.

Having seen many doctors over the years, I can recommend Dr. Moody with utmost confidence. He is on top of the latest research. He tests thoroughly and provides clear diagnosis. He is a pleasure to talk to and relates well to children and adults. He has managed our family's allergies from rare food anaphylaxis to mundane seasonal symptoms. Without a doubt, the best allergist in the Boston area.

Dr Moody is extrmely professional, quick to respond, clearly very competent, yet he has zero attitude and oozes with kindness. I find that when I leave his office, I wish I could have invited him over for dinner. He is the kind of guy you want as a friend not just your doc. Moreover, he has been spot on with every piece of information, suggestion and/or diagnosis he has given me. I feel I am lucky to have him as my allergist. I wish I had a doc like him for every area of my healthcare. I don't care if I am the only adult in his office when I am 70, I am not giving up this allergist until he retires or I die. I would strongly recommend him to anyone and I am by all accounts a doctor snob.

He is my son's new Allergy doctor at Boston Children's Hospital, he was recommended by his Dermatologist. He is direct, has experience and knowledge, I have learned a lot from Dr. Moody. I feel reassured to know my son is in his care now.

I've been a patient of Dr. Moody's for years. I've been through allergy shots, environmental and food allergy diagnosis and more with him and his office. I've always found them very professional and knowledgeable.

We went for an appointment for my child previously diagnosed with a peanut allergy. My wife refused to walk out half way through because she believed the doctor knew best. We were constantly interrupted during the appt and I felt like the doctor dismissed the questions we did have. I had to go back to work 90 minutes into the appt and by the end of the appointment the doctor forgot I was even there. We gathered no new information about her peanut allergy and were discouraged from doing any additional peanut testing but "had" to be tested for over a dozen environmental allergies we either already knew about or had no issues with. The doctor told us to get rid of the family pet as our child showed an allergic reaction in the skin test. She is very attached to her pet and has never had symptoms to him. We walked out with prescriptions for more Epi-Pens and two kinds of asthma medications. We told the doctor we have six current Epi-Pens and our pediatrician will call in for more… whenever we need them. The doctor never gave any asthma tests but we told him that her pediatrician put her on inhaled steroids for a couple weeks eight months ago for a cough that wouldn't go away so we did have a nebulizer. I felt like he was just trying to ring up diagnosis codes for insurance billing rather than provide more information about my child's one real quality of life impacting allergy.My wife has since talked with another doctor in her aerobics class who did walk out on Dr. Moody during her own son's appointment because the doctor was not listening to her. She has also found three other people we know who were told to get rid of their family pet which was causing no quality of life issues for to kids who went in for a food allergy appointment.On a positive note his office staff is excellent. We got good information about when to use an Epi-Pen and what side effects to look for from the pen from the nurse administering the skin tests than from the doctor.

Staff is rude and aloof. Almost impossible to talk to doctor on the phone. They have a very strict 8:00 a.m. timeframe for patients to call to speak with the doctor. The doctor will not call you, you have to call the doctor at this time only.
