Dr. Curtis Dwayne Prowell, MD

This guy is absolutely unbelievable. Not only did he NEVER come in to see my grandmother who was being treated by multiple EJGH physicians for a severe infection, But he was trying to push her out of his ward as quickly as she got there. He wanted us to decide what kind of care she would receive after being discharged - BEFORE WE GOT A DIAGNOSIS! Also, after we went through the arduous task of explaining all options to my almost 80 year old, mostly deaf, and almost blind grandmother, HE HAD THE GAUL TO TELL HIS ADMINISTRATOR TO NOT SPEAK TO THE FAMILY BECAUSE HE BELIEVED WE WERE KEEPING INFORMATION FROM HER. He then told my grandmother she was being transferred to a nursing home (which was NOT true) - without anyone from my family present. She's almost 80 and has never been a fan of doctors or hospitals. He had no clue about her history while trying to treat her, nor was he interested in learning it when it became apparent he was oblivious.

I was in East Jefferson Hospital for a week and a half and met with Dr. Prowell several times. I had a good overall experience and would recommend this doctor to my friends and family.

This doctor covers for the primary md in hospitals. he does not believe in pain medication, did not correctly diagnose the problem and then after being paid by the insurance company had the nerve to send a bill.
