Born in Minnesota and raised in The Golden State, Dr. Curtis J. Vandewalker has lived most of his life in California and has a true passion for practicing dentistry. After majoring in biology at San Diego State University, Dr. Vandewalker earned his master’s degree in immunology. Following his graduation, he went on to further his education at the University of the Pacific Dental School and later graduated in 1979. Finally, he traveled overseas to Germany with the U.S. Army and received three additional years of advanced dentistry training prior to settling in Loomis and establishing his own practice in 1981.
Dr. Vandewalker has been practicing in the same location since 1983. He has cared for countless patients and their families over the years. His kind nature, professional manner and wealth of experience are vital in providing his patients with the care and attention they deserve.
Dr. Vandewalker truly is an expert in all areas of dentistry. Having received extensive training in …orthodontic care during the first two years of his practice, he has been aligning smiles with both traditional and modern methods of orthodontics ever since. He was also one of the first dozen dentists in the U.S. to have studied dental bonding under Ray Bertolotti, Ph.D. using composites and porcelains. Additionally, he offers superior care for patients who are in need of cosmetic dentistry, oral surgery and full-mouth rehabilitation.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Peter, Dr. Vandewalker‘s son, recently graduated from the University of the Pacific Dental School and will become a fourth-generation dentist in the Vandewalker family. Dr. Vandewalker‘s daughter, Lisa, graduated from St. Mary's College in Moraga, Calif., and earned her degree with honors in finance and economics.
During his free time, Dr. Vandewalker enjoys playing the guitar, gardening, traveling, playing tennis and surfing. Being the auto enthusiast that he is, Dr. Vandewalker also enjoys working on Porsches and makes it a point to stay involved in both his home workshop, as well as his community.
