Dr. Curtis Dan Whittington JR., MD

I found that Dr. Whittington listened to my worries that my eyes were going downhill and that I often had pain. He thoroughly checked my eyes. I was treated with respect and given good information about what was happening in my eyes. I had a laser procedure done. I had follow up visits afterwards. I am completely satisfied with my experience here and would recommend him to friends. I found the staff to be polite and professional.

I am writing this for my husband.Dr.Whitting has been his Eye Dr. for about 28 yrs.He is an excellent Eye Dr.The problem is some of his staff at the front desk in the Jackson office.My husband was sent by Dr.whittington to Dr.Michael Borne to check my husband's retina.Dr. Borne diasnoised the problem and gave him a prescription and told him to come back in four mo.which he did.He was told the retina was fine and go back to Dr.Whittington for cateract removal on both eyes as soon as possible because my husband doesn't see very well because of blurry vision.He was told they would make the appointment for him.They did not do it.He asked Dr.Whittington's office about the appointment and was told they had not called,he asked for an appointment and was told he would have to wait until November.

I left after my second time here and don't plan on returning because of the extensive wait both times. He is a good doctor but can't seem to stay on schedule and there are other good doctors that do.

Was my family eye doctor for years. He is caring , personable, has excellent skills and diagnostic ability. I did have a problem in that he prescribed an eye drop to which I was allergic. I called the office about 6 times without having good understanding. Upon next visit, with eye drop brought along, he would not admit it was the wrong class of drugs, thought it was a generic for an older class. We all make mistakes, and my pharmacist had confirmed his. I changed because I fear a medical person who will not admit the possibilit of a mistake. This one only irritated my eye and cost a great deal of money. It could have been worse. I really think he believed himself to be correct.
