Dr. Cynthia Marie Brownfield, MD

Every time I go to see Dr Brownfield she is very helpful. She takes time to ask questions and to explain her findings.

Dr Brownfield demonstrated poor listening and communication skills on my recent visit. I feel she lacked good judgement about the way she communicated with me regarding a complaint of feeling fatigued. After I shared with her that I had recently had bronchitis, she lectured me on procuring treatment for that ailment at a local urgent care and referred to the practitioners there as “Doc in the box”. She criticized their treating me with antibiotics and continued to lecture me on and on about the overuse of antibiotics, about which I am well aware. These comments from her were prompted when I complained of feeling unduly fatigued following bronchitis. The lecture continued from her, but forgotten was my report of fatigue. She never made any further comment on that. Additionally, I had waited 40 minutes from my appointment time, by the time she walked into the exam room. She offered no apology nor explanation for the wait. I left feeling disrespected, ignored, and disappointed that… she was so disparaging of other professionals in our community. I plan to seek out a different physician who will listen to my symptoms and respond more appropriately.

Desperately needed a refill for colitis medicine called into pharmacy to stop a terrible flare. Instead of providing desperately needed medication I was informed I would need to come in for an office visit before receiving refill. There is no reason for an office visit. This is something I’ve had for a long time and they have had no specific information at the other visits. Now it’s Saturday and I am literally stuck at my house with frequent bloody stools and no medication to intervene. I guess my family will have to do everything without me this weekend. Not sure how I will make it to work Monday either. Thanks doctor Brownfield

After becoming the spokesperson for heartland she seems to be getting a big head and is loseing some of what made her a good doctor. I would reccomend finding a different doctor.

She is the best doctor that I have found so far she takes care of my family and is very frendly.

She follows her own agenda regardless of pts complaint.
