Dr. Cynthia Lacapra, MD

After explaining I’d been trying to find a psychiatrist to get an adhd diagnosis I was basically chastised and told to ‘just find any one’ (even though my insurance is bad and there aren’t any available, I called ten plus places the day before I saw her) and when I said I’d been talking to a therapist for a couple of months she told me basically if I can’t find a psych she won’t treat me. She acted afraid of me after this, and said I was acting “terrified” (I have anxiety and was meeting a new dr) and was just generally very unlikable. I’ve been trying to take care of my mental health as undiagnosed/untreated adhd can cause anxiety and depression, and she acted like I was bipolar (suggested several times) and needed a bipolar diagnosis. I will not be continuing care with this doctor. She’s incapable of doing her job properly and I’m not the only one who’s been treated this way by her. But I guess I’m just BiPoLaR, even tho she “isn’t comfortable diagnosing mental health issues”
