Dr. Cynthia Lorino, MD

Cynthia Lorino, M.D. recently joined the team at East Alabama Health, and will be the breast imaging specialist at the new Breast Health Center in Auburn, Ala. Dr. Lorino earned her medical degree from the University of South Alabama, where she also completed her residency.A career in medicine was Dr. Lorino’s goal since she was a child. She loves helping others and loves the science and challenges that come along with working in the medical field. Radiology specifically appealed to her as she is fascinated with taking the findings from different imaging modalities to determine how to treat her patients.Dr. Lorino chose to work in breast imaging because it allows for a lot of patient interaction, the use of multiple modalities, and, most importantly, it gives her the opportunity to make a difference in her patients' lives. Dr. Lorino has developed three breast health centers in her career. She started the breast health program at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, developed …the Breast Center at Providence Hospital in Mobile and the Breast Center in Montgomery. She is looking forward to providing care for patients in East Alabama with a dedicated breast center.Dr. Lorino and her husband, Gaeton Lorino, M.D., have been married for 39 years. They have two dogs, Sasha, a chow, and Chloe, a mini goldendoodle, and also breed Morgan horses. In her spare time, Dr. Lorino enjoys relaxing at Lake Martin.
