Cynthia Maggard, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC

With an appreciation for the relationship nurses have with their patients, Cynthia Maggard, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC, decided to become a nurse herself. Delivered by a midwife at Mary Breckenwidge Hospital in Hyden, Kentucky, she's a proud Appalachian native who finds joy in helping others. Today, she sees patients from childhood through adulthood at AdventHealth Primary Care Clinic in Manchester. Cynthia is proud of her education and her ability to provide health care services to rural Kentucky throughout her career. She feels it's an honor to hold her patients' hands as they experience the highest and sometimes most challenging parts of their lives. Cynthia began her nursing career after earning an Associate of Nursing degree from Hazard Community and Technical College. She then pursued advanced degrees in nursing after working in both the hospital and long-term care settings. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing with honors at the distinguished Frontier Nursing University and became …a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2012. She is married with three children ages 13, 7 and 4. To rest and recharge her body, mind and spirit, she reads and gardens. She also enjoys traveling to new places, meeting new people and exploring different cultures.
