Dr. Cynthia Korlei Nortey

My husband had a sever lung infection and Dr Nortey treated us like family . She has continued to monitor my husbands condition closely with expert medical knowledge and caring ways. We feel so fortunate to be receiving such good care and would highly recommend her to all.

I was sent to Dr. Nortey for a bone infection. It seemed to me that since my reason for visiting her did not fit into her interest, that my issue was not important to her and I felt the treatment and attention to detail were severely lacking.

If you read other reviews of this Dr. you will notice that they are complaining about dumb stuff like an inadvertently locked door or the fact that Dr. Nortey did not feel she could help them. For what it's worth, Dr. Nortey is an Infections Disease specialist. If you don't have an infectious disease she is not going to be able to help you. Regardless, I was still concerned when I I was referred to Dr. Nortey. However, I was referred by a doctor I trust, so I decided to go ahead with the appointment. Dr. Nortey and her staff are all very nice, efficient and most of all, accommodating. I had an urgent case and Dr. Nortay was able to see me right away. Her staff was very nice (thank you Sonia!) and Dr. Nortey herself is very good at explaining what she is doing and why. I would highly recommend this doctor.

If you think you have lyme disease, don't bother with this doctor. She will say you don't have lyme disease despite having tested positive for borrelia (the bacteria that causes lyme). She needs to do some research, go back to medical school, or quit being an infectious disease doctor.

If your condition is a complex skin condition that doesn't involve Hiv or Aids, do not go here. The Nurse seemed a bit confused and over worked. The Doctor is nice, but; like most Doctor's that represent the major Hospitals, they are practicing according to Hospital protocol and I will not be spending another High copay for someone to make up assumptions regarding my condition as they work through an appointment. Totally not worth it! Check in was horrible, too time consuming and the lady tried to collect the higher copay for my insurance instead of the required, contracted copay, which was less. Will not return to this office.

If you suspect you have Lyme disease, do not go to Dr. Nortey's office, as she knows nothing about the Lyme and co-infections. After 5 minutes of speaking to me she said I didn't have Lyme (borrelia), even though I tested positive for 2 bands of lyme borreliosis and had all the symptoms. She did no other testing and made no recommendations. Do not waste your time with this doctor.
