When I saw this psychiatrist I was suffering from a severe recurrent depression. The initial visit was okay but we did not seem to click. She was tough to read, gave little feedback and was not very supportive. I thought maybe it was my depression warping my view of her. I went back for a return appointment and to my dismay, despite the severity of my depression, we had only a half hour appointment. Again, I found her to be a cold fish. She suggested a mood stabilizer. Despite the brevity of the visit she charged me about $400, for psychotherapy and medication management. I felt so uncomfortable with her, after talking it over with family, I did not return. The psychiatrist I now see for ongoing therapy charges the same amount but sees me for 50 to 60 minutes and is much more responsive. He prescribed and antidepressant was essential for my full recovery.
