Dr. Cyril Chan Wong, MD

Though we love Dr. Wong every time we come we wait at least an hour to be seen. The office is always freezing (even other patients complain) we are looking for a new doctor only because we can't spend at least an hour waiting every month (my child has monthly medication)

This doctor's nursing staff is extremely rude and not personable. I never even made it into the office because of how rude they were on my first phone call to the office. First impressions matter and apparently they do not care. The lady answering the phone was very argumentative and just overall rude. One lost patient....taking my son somewhere else because if this doctor's nurses and staff are allowed to be this rude well, I do not want them touching or treating my children.

If you are reading this, then chances are you are looking for a pediatrician. Well I can assure you that Dr. Cyril Wong is NOT a Dr that you want to take your child to. I brought my premature son to his practice after a 16 day NICU stay. My son had what was later to be diagnosed as torticollis. I asked Dr. Wong repeatedly about his neck and why he was always looking to one side. My son eventually developed a lump in his neck (a sure fire sign of torticollis) and I brought him in to see Dr. Wong. He told me it was a lymph node and not to worry. After four months my sons head began to get a flat spot on one side from always turning to one side when he was sleeping. No amount of repositioning could get him to look the other way, and blindly I trusted my sons Dr telling me everything was fine. We wised up and sought a second opinion in which my son was correctly diagnosed. In addition to four months of twice weekly Physical Therapy, my son has to wear a helmet to correct the shape of his… head. ALL OF THIS COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED IF HE HAD BEEN CORRECTLY DIAGNOSED AT ONE MONTH OLD WHEN I POINTED THIS OUT TO DR. WONG! Stay far, far away from this Dr. He is negligent, ignorant, and unprofessional. He does not listen to you as a parent, and the nurses in his office are even worse. They are rude, mean, and poorly manicured. Very unprofessional. I would not recommend this Drâ??s office to anyone. There is another Dr. that works there. I never interacted with her, and do not have any comments or opinions as to her practice.

My daughter has been a patient of Dr. Wong's since she was 15 months old (shortly after we adopted her). I really like Dr. Wong not only because he is quick and efficient, but also because he always has time to answer all of my questions and explains things to me. I also like his office staff who are always friendly and good at what they do. Recently, I had to take my daughter to Dr. Wong's office for a sick visit and she saw the PA. I really liked the PA as well. I do not know how long I usually wait because it doesn't seem that long to me ... probably because I always talk to whoever is in the waiting room :D

I completely agree with prior poster. He is likable. But, while he is a nice person, he is always in a hurry and has one hand on the door ready to move to the next patient. He does not ask a single question about any of my children's development or behavior. I asked him about recommendations on how to help my son's behavior toward his younger his sister. His standard answer is "that normal, that normal". He provided no additional insight. While the doctors are at least likeable, the staff is horrible and only slightl competent. His nurse appears to have no interest in children. She spends about one minute in the room and seems miserable. The front office is disorganized and unpleasant at best.

Would recommend Dr. Wong to anyone who is looking for a peditrician. The highest regard for Dr. Wong.

Pros: PersonableCons: Does not ask any questions about my child's emotional development, motor skills development, auditory skills, etc. He mostly stands there and simply says "everything okay". Being that I did not spend years in medical school, it should be partially his job to determine if my child's development is "normal". He always appears to be in a rush and too busy. But, he is very nice and likable. His nurse is not. She did nothing wrong, but based on her cold behavior, I'm convinced she's not in love with her profession. Overall, if you can live with a drive to Tampa, I'd recommend not going with the pedis in the Brooksville, Spring Hill area.

Dr. Wong has been my sons doctor since birth. He was even there at birth(c-section) just in case there was a problem. He is a great doctor. He is very understanding of your needs and very understanding of the "new parent jitters". My son is now 6 and he doesn't mind going to the doctor at all(even for shots).

Dr. wong has seen my child for 9 years and is wonderful. My daughter has always felt comfortable with him and his staff. The whole staff at the Cortez office is just fantastic. Keep up the great work!!

I believe Dr. Wong is an excellent physician but his staff are the laziest people I have ever encountered in a Dr.'s office. The staff requires 24 hours notice for everything from a simple photocopy, to understanding that the patient's have obligations also. Very rude in general, would definitely find some where else to go.
