Visited Dr Krump on my last two visits. Good conversation and gave me shots in both knees. Seemed concerned for my health and will recommend. And Max his PA is outstanding.

Excellent doctor Caring and compassionate every time!

Only had two appointments with this doctor. I will not go back to him unless he is the last doctor available in Virginia for orthopedics. The first appointment he was too busy to see me and sent his pa. His PA, Max is very nice and knowledgeable. He actually listened to me and gave solutions to my knee pain. I received a mri of my knee then finally met Dr Kump at my next appointment for follow up and reading my mri results. This visit lasted only 5 minutes. It consisted of the physician telling me my cartilage was worn, I need a total knee replacement at 32 years old. He then told me I was too young (which I totally understand) and too fat to do anything for. I asked about a brace or other things that could be done for my knee instead of a replacement. I was told the only thing I can do is lose weight, it would make everything in my life better. I realize that I’m overweight, always have been to some extent. I also have bad family genetics for joints. But my weight shouldn’t keep me… from having treatment for my knee pain. I am a registered nurse and on my feet all the time. Telling me I’m fat and losing weight would fix my problems is NOT the same thing as helping with my knee pain so I can continue to work and live as a human being. As another medical professional I am very disappointed and dissatisfied with the services that were provided by Dr Kump. I am glad that I continued to advocate for myself and found Dr. Owusu-Akyaw. Dr O is awesome. He actually listened and gave me options, that are working wonders.

The actual surgery and the support staff are outstanding. Doctor Kump on the other hand has the bedside manner of a fern in a big hurry. He was irritated by my questions and could not wait to get out of the Room. I feel if you are going to do surgery on me you should make time to answer my questions. And the follow up visit I didn't even see him, I saw his PA, Max, who is obviously trained by Dr. KUMP on his bedside manner which is just as bad.
