Dr. D Gregory Bott, MD

We have had Dr. Bott as our pediatrician for going on 7 years now. He has been great with our daughter. I like the fact that he is not quick to over medicate like other doctors. He is always very calm and answers all our questions. The staff is always wonderful and very friendly. What we especially love about this office is that when our little girl is sick and needs to be seen they always take her the same day. Another positive is that we are never in the waiting room long and while we are there, it's not with a bunch of sick children because they are already being attended.

I have gone to Dr. Bot since I was born and I am now twelve years old and I just wanted to say I hate you Dr. Gregory Bot. About three years ago he diagnosed me with ADD and put me on 40 then 60 milligrams methylphenidate snitch was odd since most doctors would of tryed another med before and I was literally falling asleep standing up it was like a traclizer dart being shot right in your neck, and when me and my mom tryed to tell him about it and to ask him to lower the dosage he said the I would would keep trying to lower the dosage and the he thought I was doing perfect. So my mother told him he needed the lower the the dosage but finally lowered it to 30 milligrams of methylphenidate it was working perfectly and about a couple month's ago my mother and i went in and me and my mom we're all ready really not liking him and we told him it was going perfectly and said and I quote " I won't argue with success " but his voice was lace with sarcasm, boardness, and annoyance . Then about… a month ago we went in there for my 3 month check up my mother and I have to go in there once every three months because as he says methylphenidate is a controlled substance and he has to see me to write a prescription for 3 months and every time in the next 3 months my mom has to go in there and pick it up and we live all the way in front royal Virginia and while we were there he uped the dosage to 40 milligrams of methylphenidate and about a week ago we went in to pick up my prescription and they said the we couldn't have the prescription until I come in for my 3 month cheap up and we scheduled it for 2 days decor Christmas eve and finally after we went and got the prescription we went home who knows what he might do next. Also about 3 to 5 years ago when we were there for a physical after they weighed me and we were back in the room I was sitting right the and he said I was extremely overweight and obese wen I only weighed about 100 pounds an amount 10 years old and told my mom that if there was junk food in the house I would eat it and basically told her how to be a parent.there are many reasons why that statement was completely wrong. 1st is that if you offered me an option of a chocolate bar and a salad I would gladly chose the salad, I can't even eat a quarter of a chocolate bar without wanting to throw up, and 2ed of all mom Disney keep junk food in the house because no one eats that much junk food so obviously he's is very mistaken. Also about a 2 years ago I sprained my ankle and I went to the doctors and Dr. Bot said that it was sprained and that there was nothing he could do about it so for about the next 3 to 4 months was spent in pain but last year I sprained the same ankle and the it in a splint and gave me crutches and I was better in three days max. The only good thing about his office is the Secretary and the nurse definitely get shots from her you don't even feel a thing.

Dr. Bott used to be my pediatrician when I was a child. His office has changed for the worse and is absolutely horrendous!! The first time I took my daughter to his office the receptionist (Marcie) was incredibly rude. We have excellent insurance with BCBS, Carefirst; however, we were treated as if we had no money and no insurance. This office is built off of pure greed. I wouldn't even mind paying big money for great service, BUT the service is treacherous. Dr. Bott himself is distant, non-sociable and stubborn. I used to adore him when I was a child. Now, he hardly looks at your child and doesn't listen to a thing you are telling him, as a parent. I would NEVER recommend this doctor. In fact, I truly believe he has lost his touch and should consider retiring. He is not working with adults, these are CHILDREN. In addition, I called this office to obtain a fax number to transfer physicians, they act like I asked for the bank account number. I had to answer a series of questions and… advise who I was. I don't understand what difference that makes. The fax number should be provided no matter the situation. Shady, shady people. Marcie, you should be in a factory or behind the scenes somewhere because your people skills SUCK!! If i could give them 1/4 of a star, I would. That is all.

I've chosen Dr. Bott for all three of my children. When they are sick, I call the office an get an appt right away. I never wait long to be seen. I have friends that tell me about there child's doctor an there experiences are bad. Waiting in a waiting area full of sick children for half hour or longer when your child is sick. Fortunately, I cannot relate. I tell them how good my childrens pediatrician is and that they should switch. Lol

Dr. Bott is a little bit hard to read, and is slightly condescending, but I don't think he means to be. He has been very thorough so far in the 4 months that my infant has been seeing him.

Dr Bott is an amazing pediatrition. He always speaks to my children when walking into the room and recognizes them as people. He takes time to listen to concerns and process what is wrong with both of my kids. He examines them thouroughly at every visit and has even followed up personally on the phone to check on them. I would recommend him to any new parent.

Dr Bott saw my daughter's little son for some kind of a rapidly developing rash that we thought was chicken pox. After examining him, Dr Bott told my daughter Anthony was covered with either flea or bedbug bites. My daughter protested several times, saying that bug bites could not be the cause, as the rash was moving and developing almost before their eyes. He insisted it was insect bites. My daughter took him to our local urgent care center where 2 doctors took one look at him and said "chicken pox." Any mom could look at a kid and tell almost immediately if something is a bug bite or chicken pox. I can't believe that Dr Bott would be this far off the mark of a ridiculously common childhood disease. My daughter is going to call Dr Bott tomorrow and inform him or this and demand her payment back. I could never recommend a doctor this foolish. Or just downright stupid. if I could give ZERO stars I would.

Dr. Bott has been our dr for five years. I've never been disappointed UNTIL now. I have two teenage daughters. At their last physicals, he told both of them that they were way overweight. Not even CLOSE to being true. Even grabbed my youngest's stomach and pinched "fat"!! I feel that if there was an issue with their weight (and I don't believe there is), that he should've discussed it with their father or I - not humiliate a growing, young woman. Now they are super conscience of every morsel they eat and talk about taking up jogging. Not everyone is a stick-figure. We WILL be finding a different dr. BEWARE

My husband had doctor Bott as a child, and now he is the doctor for our little girl. We love his willingness to spend as much time as needed with us and he answers all of our questions. We always have a good experience when we visit doctor Bott.

Sorry my wife said that before I had been to an appointment with our childran and she was right, the man reminded me of Kevin Spacey.Dr. Bott took care of our boys from 4-6, and was our daughters Dr after she was born and until we moved.He was caring and proffessional. When we asked about immunizations he got a little flustered and we said we were for them but had a question, so we may have been an appointment or 2 behind the person that gave him bad ratings, but I tell you he is top notch.The boys were always cared for and diagnosas was always well explained. When our daughter was in the NICU, he came by our room a couple time and always made sure to take the time to explain what was going on.I can't say enough good things.His office staff was awful when it came to billing which is what the only low marks were for.
