Dr. Da David Jiang, MD

Dr. Jiang was pressured, tried to get through appointment as fast as possible, and was extremely dismissive and rude to my wife who joined me for the visit. I was surprise he recommended a medication with serious side effects (one that many researchers and doctors say is dangerous and should be taken off the market) without fully explaining that there were other options! I declined the medication, fortunately. Jiang also pushed getting a biopsy and repeating several times that if I didn't, then "you can roll the dice." Seriously? When I asked about options, he refused to elaborate, except to say "there's a lot of them." This was one of the worst physician appointments I have ever had. Fortunately, I got a second opinion, and this doctor recommended "active surveillance" before jumping to biopsy. This second doctor had an engaged conversation with me, instead of Jiang's one-sided approach. Bullying your patient is not good health care!

Dr Jiang performed aquablation surgery on my prostate on Wednesday afternoon. By Thursday morning, I was feeling great, ready to leave the hospital. By Thursday afternoon, I felt so good it was hard to believe that I had just had surgery! On top of great surgeon's skills, he's a nice man who listens to what you have to say. Five stars are not enough!

I was referred by my primary care physician to Dr. Gilbert P Klemann at the Oregon Clinic. When i arrived for my appointment the reception said they had called me to try to reschedule my appointment but did not leave a message and that she had to reschedule me for another visit on a different day. Not wanting to wait another month to see Dr. Klemann she offered to schedule me with Dr. Da David Jiang. A few weeks later I arrived to see Dr. Jiang, the reason for my visit was due to a high PSA, we had a conversation about it and he schedule me for some lab work. I then told him I was interested in getting a vasectomy, he first acted shocked then he proceeded to tell me about all the side effects of the procedure which I understood and weren’t a concern. I went home, thought about it then decided I wanted a second opinion, not thinking it would be an issue, I scheduled with Dr. Klemann who was the original physician I was referred to by my primary care doctor. I arrived for my… appointment with Dr. Klemann, he read my file and noticed that my reason for visit was something I had spoken to Dr. Jiang about. He took me to Dr. Jiang office and asked me if I had consulted with Dr. Jiang about this and I said yes and that I wanted a second opinion. He then took me to his office and we had a good conversation and the consult went well. After my visit I called the office 5 separate times to schedule a procedure, the first two times they said they would call me back but no one did and the other three times I left a voicemail and no one called me back. I don’t know why they haven’t called me back but it left me wondering if the physician found it insulting when you seek a second opinion from their partner or it’s against some etiquette that I am unaware of. Whatever the reason is, I felt like I had to take time to write and share this information. Finding another urologist isn’t an issue but I owe it to myself and everyone else to share my story about Dr. Jiang, Dr. Klemann and the Oregon Clinic.

Dr. Jiang has done two robotic surgeries on me in the past 2 months and I can’t say enough good things about Him! His skill and expertise is top notch PLUS excellent bedside manner. He is efficient and confident but does not come off arrogant and always takes time to listen and takes your concerns into consideration, truly. He called so many times to follow-up and check-in with to make sure I was doing well before and after the surgeries. He was even great at doing his rounds visiting during my hospital stays and there weren’t any delays on getting me discharged. He fit me into his schedule after hours and made sure that not only me, but also my husband understood what all was needing to be done. Dr. Jiang goes far above and beyond, more than any doctor I’ve gone to.
