Dacia J. Ticas

Dacia J. Ticas, MD, is fellowship-trained and double board-certified in sports medicine and emergency medicine. She focuses on nonoperative sports injuries and specializes in diagnosing, treating, and preventing musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. She provides nonsurgical treatment options such as physical therapy, splinting, bracing, oral and topical medications, and various injections to help her patients achieve their desired activity levels. 
She is also an assistant professor and the director of sports medicine for the Department of Emergency Medicine at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. 
She obtained her medical degree from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. She completed her residency training in emergency medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville. She further specialized by completing a primary care sports medicine fellowship at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson. 
Outside of work, …she enjoys spending time with her husband and child, traveling, and golfing.
