Dr. Dale D Burleson, MD

I had my first routine colonoscopy performed by Dr. Burleson in late 2022 and immediately began hemorrhaging large amounts of blood following the procedure while in the recovery room. I still don’t know if it was a perforation or a bleeding polyp; however, they rushed back into the OR to try to stop the excessive bleeding. Burleson’s office and TCRS then charged me in full for a second colonoscopy to go back in to fix their botched initial colonoscopy.

I have been a patient of Dr. Burleson for more than 10 years . I don't remember the first I year I became a patient. He has preformed all of the Colonoscopies' I have had and a Fistulotomy. He has preformed the last few Colonoscopies my wife has had. I have been working with his PA on a issue but as of today My wife and myself will never return to his office. The personnel that set his appointments are terrible and rude. My wife needed the colonoscopy. Cancel the appointment OK. He must approve of the procedures his personnel use or they would not be using them! I am sure we will be able to find another Doctor somewhere in the North Dallas, Plano, Frisco area.

You're good if you just have to see his staff

I need to have a colonoscopy and showed up on time. I got many robo calls reminding me of my colonoscopy. Someone changed my appointment time and his nursed called me demand I show up and half hour sooner. She was not very nice. I am naked with except for a small cloth with a needle in my hand and the doctor runs into yelling at me because I had a cup of coffee that morning. There were many patients around that hear him. Doctor must have forgotten about HIPA rules. He yelled again to the nurses to move my appointment to the last position of the day. I have not had any food for over 36 hours. My father had stage 4 colon cancer so I was very upset. I called my wife to come and get me out of this hospital. I do not recommend this doctor. He need to retire, he is old and stupid.

I have been patient for 12 years: 3 colonoscopies and 2 rectal surgeries. Because his expertise I have been able to deal with my rectal problems. He is an excellent doctor.

Dr Burleson was very friendly and professional. He put me to ease by showing me a video how the surgery would be done and explained every step. The surgery went well, no problems what so ever. I was in the hospital three days and doing great. I returned for a follow up visit in three weeks. Doing great and discharged. I am from Kentucky and went to Texas for the surgery as Dr Burleson was highly recommended. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing colon surgery.

The key to good care is not when everything goes right, its when things go wrong. My wife experienced heaven bleeding a week after surgery. She was hospitalized and had to be given 2 pints of blood during a transfusion. Dr Burleson cared less, never visited during her 3 day stay. The attending was frustrated one with the lack of guidance from the surgeon. His assistant visited after 2 days and you could tell it was just an inconvenience. Things go wrong, but the key to great service is how they are handled. In this case very poorly.

Very humble and approachable considering his credentials. Explains things on a level that comforts a patient without talking down to them. I credit him for saving my life from Stage 3C.

While in surgery room for colonoscopy and under sedation he berated me and lambasted me for not bringing an ostomy pouch which his office had told me I didn't need. I've never been literally yelled at before, let alone by a physician. I ended up in hospital all aftermoon trying to get my blood pressure down from 212 before I could go home. Had seen him only two times before and each time he was rude and in a hurry. I'm 82 years old and still in my right mind. He obviously has anger issues. I'll never go back to him, despite the glowing reviews above.
