Dr. Dale Wells Caughey

Dr. Caughey you are by far the best doctor I and my family have ever had, In the early 1980's you treated my grandmother "Edith Helms" who was diagnosed with what at that time was a rare disease called Myasthenia Gravis which had no cure but you treated her the best of any Dr. along with your colleagues at Duke. You treated my mother "Peggy Hardin" for numerous problems throughout her lifetime (Which by the way she is still hanging in there after having stints then bypass surgery and almost bleeding to death recently (07-15) due to a ulcerated sore in her colon that made it's way to a blood vessel but they cauterized it and stapled the vessel off on each end, She's on 2 liters of oxygen and confined to her room under I and my wife's care, She wanted me to tell you hello and that you are in our prayers. You also treated my sister with her numerous problems which included a disc that had almost severed her spine in her neck which you diagnosed, She says to thank you as well. Now as for… me "Gerry Hardin Jr.", I was a handful for you and had numerous problems you treated me for from low iron to "Legionnaires Disease" which you listened to me give you my symptoms and immediately said you were going to test my blood for legionella bacteria which came back positive, You are by far the best at diagnosing a person based on their symptoms of any doctor I have EVER encountered. (Dr. House doesn't hold a candle to you!) You accepted me when I was between jobs and without insurance and let me pay you when I could which I will forever be in your debt for even though you gave me a dollar figure to pay you and said not to worry about the rest. Dr. Caughey I will always have you in my prayers and hopefully one day we can meet again. GOD BLESS YOU!!!

He was my Doctor for 21 Year's and when he retired it was very hard to find a good Doctor. Dr. Dale Caughey was the best Doctor I've ever had and wish he would start working again if it was just Part-Time. He was the best Doctor that Wilmington NC had and is missed very much by my whole Family.... I miss you very much Dr. Caughey!!
