Dale Vincent, APRN

Dale Vincent, APRN attended Spalding University, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and graduated summa cum laude. She later received her Master of Science in nursing and graduated with honors. She started her health care journey as an emergency department nurse at Sts. Mary and Elizabeth and Jewish Healthcare System in Louisville. Vincent has worked in the health care industry for 23 years, also serving as an emergency department educator and, since 2009, as a nurse practitioner.  Once she started working in oncology, Vincent knew it was the perfect fit. She said the family atmosphere that comes with cancer care sticks with her the most and that it is imperative to ensure the care patients receive is a collaboration among the physician, the patient and their family. "We get to see not only our patients but also their family members, and we get to know everyone. You get very close to patients and their families, and that's not an opportunity you have in every …specialty," said Vincent. "Cancer is a complex issue. Patients have a great deal of trust in us, and they trust us to tell them when they are finished with treatment. If we need to change our focus from treatment to comfort and palliation, they trust us to tell them when that is."
